👑⚽️ FIND THE QUEEN WITHIN YOU!

What better way to kick off Women in Sports Month than celebrating women who are changing the game - on the field, in the community, and behind the scenes?

I had the BEST time attending the Seattle Reign Queen’s Match and supporting our incredible women’s team while celebrating our own Seattle Queen, Jess Fishlock, during her final NWSL season 💜💛 @jessfishlock @reignfc

Before kickoff, I was grateful to attend a small gathering at Cityside at the Queen’s Table surrounded by incredible women in sports and events. @seattlesportscommission

One of my favorite moments? Writing encouraging notes with @withlove_seattle for middle school girls - reminding them to never let anyone convince them that they don’t belong in sports.

I also got to hang with my WISE - Women in Sports and Events, and recognize Dr. Sarah Lesko, Executive Director of Bras for Girls, was recognized for her incredible work making sports/bras more accessible for girls. ✨ @wiseseattle @drlesko @brasforgirlsorg

Her work is a perfect reminder that sometimes the barrier to sports isn’t talent, motivation, or desire — it’s access. A sports bra should never be the reason a girl stops playing.

And a HUGE shoutout to the RAVE Foundation! ⚽️ @ravefound

RAVE is working to create equitable access to play by building free-play soccer fields, removing barriers to participation, and using soccer to strengthen communities. Their vision is powerful: every child should have access to play and every community should have a place to come together.

That is what women in sports is about to me.

Sports don’t just build athletes — they help build leaders. Research continues to connect sport participation with leadership development, teamwork, responsibility, confidence, and social connection. 🧠⚽️🏀🏈

So this month, I challenge you:

👑Find the queen inside of you.
⚽️Find your sport.
💪Find your voice.
❤️Find your community.
✨And when you get there, hold the door open for the next girl #womeninsports #womensports #seattlereignfc #wiseseattle #womenempowerment

The B4G team headed to Paschal Sherman Indian School near Omak, on the Colville Reservation in eastern Washington, to work with their students and PE teachers. Bra fittings, our curriculum, and for so many of the girls, their very first sports bra.

Thank you for having us. We love bringing this work to communities across our state. 💕🍁🏃🏽‍♀️🏐💪🏼

Queen’s Match night at Lumen Field 👑⚽

So grateful to @reignfc for welcoming Bras for Girls to the second annual Queen’s Match, a night celebrating the women who built this game and the girls who’ll carry it forward.

Our Executive Director Sarah Lesko got to soak it in from the sidelines (jumping included 🙌), and our team spent the evening at the Rise Up! community zone talking with families, sharing our free sports bra curriculum, and spreading one simple message: a sports bra is a sports essential.

Every girl deserves to feel supported, confident and ready to play. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions and scanned to donate. 💙

Swipe through our night 👉 and tap the link in bio to donate a sports bra.

Today at Our Space in Sport 💕🏃🏽‍♀️🏀

Over 100 girls walked away with a properly fitted sports bra, and we also got to introduce our Sports Bra Curriculum to a group.

Because gear and knowledge go hand in hand one fits the body, the other builds the confidence to use it.

Days like today are exactly why we do this work.

That’s the gap our curriculum is built to close. Real talk, real tools, no awkwardness: for coaches, teachers, and parents who want to keep girls playing.

A sports bra can be the difference between a girl staying in sport or walking away from it.

That’s why we created a FREE, downloadable 20-minute curriculum for teachers and coaches. Designed to be practical, evidence-based, and easy to implement, it gives educators the tools to confidently talk about sports bras as essential athletic equipment—not an awkward conversation.

Every coach and PE teacher deserves access to resources that help keep girls moving.

Download the curriculum, share it with your school, and join us in breaking down one more barrier to girls’ participation in sport. 💙

What looks like a small piece of athletic gear can shape whether a girl feels comfortable enough to keep participating.

As girls move through puberty, sports can become more complicated. Their bodies are changing, they may feel different from their peers, and they are often expected to navigate those changes without the right information or support. When a girl does not have a properly fitting sports bra, running, jumping, or even participating in PE can come with discomfort, embarrassment, and unwanted attention.

That is not a lack of interest in sports. It is a barrier.

Bras for Girls is working to remove that barrier by providing girls with free, high-quality sports bras and education that helps them understand their changing bodies without shame. Their work also encourages coaches, educators, and communities to recognize sports bras for what they are: essential athletic equipment, just like cleats, helmets, or uniforms.

In the latest episode of Saltbox Entrepreneurs Club, Ashley sits down with Dr. Sarah Lesko, executive director of Bras for Girls, to explore how a small donation program grew into a national nonprofit that has distributed more than 230,000 sports bras.

Sarah shares what it takes to build an organization around an often-overlooked need, from breaking the stigma surrounding breast development to managing manufacturing, inventory, volunteers, shipping, and partnerships as demand continues to grow.

Because keeping girls connected to sports takes more than encouraging them to play. It takes making sure they have what they need to feel safe, comfortable, and supported when they do.

The full conversation with Sarah Lesko of Bras for Girls is now available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Listen through the link in our bio.
