I’m loving my results so far from @raleigheyeandface

I think it’s important to keep in in my mind that everyone heals different.

I knew being a little bit older (I’ll be 41 in a few weeks), that that could have an affect on my healing. Collagen production slows and circulation changes as we age. I could even factor in genetics.

Literally two people could have the same procedure done by the same surgeon and have completely different timelines of healing. Which is normal!

In total my cost was $6750.

This included my stay at the surgery center, anesthesia, etc.

I did also buy things that I thought would help post op:
Neck pillow
Lid scrubs
Lubricant eye drops
Artificial tears
Small ice packs
Gauze

1 month - Post Op ❤️

I’ve been enjoying the healing process so far. Taking it slow and letting my body do what it’s supposed to.

I can already tell the difference. My undereye area used to always feel so heavy or like it was stack of 6 quarters sitting in that area. That’s very specific but you get my point lol.

Swelling is still hanging around but every week gets better!

2 weeks post op 🙌

The bruising is fading. The swelling is significantly down from where it was at. There’s still some tenderness and subtle asymmetry as left eye continues to heal (which is totally normal by the way).

I’ve spent my whole career telling clients to trust the timeline of healing because skin doesn’t “fix” overnight. Real change can be take weeks or months. Here I am on the other side of that advice finally taking my own. I’m letting my body do the work 🙌🙌🙌

Day 4 - Post Op

Random Thoughts:

I was already prepared for whatever the swelling or inflammation would potentially look like after surgery. I’m not bothered by it at all.

Honestly, the tear gas I had to endure during navy boot camp was much more of a painful sensory memory when it comes to eye discomfort. It’s been decades and just thinking about that makes me flinch. In comparison, this discomfort is manageable.

The rest has been the hardest part. I tried folding and washing clothes the other day and my body quickly said “sit down” 🫵👊🤔🤨😅✋

I did it ✨

As an esthetician, I know exactly where skin care ends and surgery or other treatment options begins. No cream, no facial, or no amount of de-puffing was ever going to fix my genetic eye bags. I’ve had them for as long as I can remember.

After last year took a lot out of me personally/professionally, I decided to do the one thing that I always wanted.

So I did lots of research and I found the right surgeon 🙌 @drmettu at @raleigheyeandface

The surgery was at Blue Ridge Surgery Center and it was more than pleasant. Everyone there communicated their role and they were more than accommodating.

Recovery starts now and I’m showing you as much I can because that’s what I promised. The honest version, not a highlight reel.
