Two key tools in Luminar Neo to enhance details and expand your photos! By @dronographer.eu #madewithluminar

“The first drone photo in the reel was taken with a DJI Mavic 3 Pro. We made a video before taking the pictures and were in a hurry because the sun was setting fast. So, I messed up the settings when I switched to photo mode. I missed the focus and took the photo in a 16:9 ratio instead of 4:3.

Thus, my RAW file was far from perfect, and you could see all the pixeled information when it was 16:9. I still believed in this photo and tried to make the most out of it in Luminar Neo:

1) The ‘Supersharp’ tool helped me enhance my photo by restoring numerous details. The ‘Motion Blur’ tab addresses instances where the camera was shaking or you lacked stability. Furthermore, you can adjust the intensity and select the level of detail restoration, ranging from Low to Middle or High adjustments.

Another useful tool when using ‘Supersharp’ is masking. Under the masking tab, you can grab a brush, add some softness, and bring back some details on the faces, for example. If you do a lot of portrait photography, this should also be your go-to tool for blurry images.

2) By adding AI-filled content, I could expand the photo to a 1:1 ratio, which also helped create the effect of being higher in the air. For that, I used ‘GenExpand’ as this tool allows you to extend the boundaries of your photos for landscapes and portraits, choosing which side of the image you would like to expand.

I adjusted contrast, highlights/shadows, and black-and-white points to finalize the edit. To achieve my signature dream-like look, I concluded the process by using the ‘Mystical’ and ‘Glow’ tools.”
