My comeback race.

Eight months ago, I wasn’t sure I’d ever be here again.

After a life-threatening illness that took so much out of me, physically and mentally, I didn’t know if I’d find that drive to run again.

But my husband kept telling me I wasn’t done. Even when I had my doubts.

It took longer than expected to find my way back. It definitely wasn’t a straight line, but slowly, one run at a time, I started to feel that spark again.

Training had a different focus this time. New routes, easy runs just for fun and less obsessing over my watch. Learning not to get frustrated with my pace (most of the time). Being okay with skipping a day, or three, and just enjoying the days I actually wanted to run.

This race wasn’t about fancy race kits, pre-race photos or chasing a time. I just wanted to get back on a start line and see if that fire was still there.

And yesterday, I got my answer.

I had so much fun being out there, running along thousands of others. Crossing that finish line made me feel like I was back.

Of course, I couldn’t actually not check my watch… at 1:35:03, I almost nabbed a PB - if only I wasn’t 200m over!

Always thanks to @drrogermenta for being by my side and a special thanks to @b_r_e_e_z_y_77 and the little munchkin for hosting us in Victoria.

I think it’s safe to say the fire was lit. What’s next?!

Endurance training can be a lonely sport.

The early swims before the rest of the world is awake. The solo trainer rides. The long runs where it’s just you, your thoughts, and the work you said you were going to do.

And while those moments build something important, it doesn’t mean you have to feel like you’re doing it all alone.

That’s where Trionics comes in.

Our athletes get personalized coaching built around their goals, their schedule, their strengths, and their real life. But they also get something bigger than a plan in TrainingPeaks.

They get a coach in their corner who cares if the work gets done, who adjusts when life gets messy, and who helps keep the process moving forward.

They get a community that understands the miles, the nerves, the breakthrough days, and the days where showing up is the win.

Through online connection, race meetups, training camps, and a team of athletes building toward their own goals, Trionics is here to make endurance sport feel a little less lonely and a lot more supported.

You still have to do the work.

You just don’t have to do it alone.

Happy first anniversary to my forever plus one 💕

Our first year of marriage was one for the books. We had incredible highs with travel, races, and buying our first home together. We also faced lows we never expected, including a life-threatening illness, a sudden job change, and a move in the middle of everything.

There were laughs, tears, and some scary moments. But there was always love. A year ago we chose to be a team for whatever life threw at us, and boy did year one test that promise.

We made it through together and still managed to have a lot of fun along the way. And while we accomplished a lot this year, I haven’t forgotten about my promise to perfect my latte art skills… so I guess year two still has something to work on. :)

Love you, babe. Happy one year 💕

Rain or shine, the Move to Move team shows up, steps up, and has a blast doing it! 🌧️⛰️🥏

We recently gathered for our staff day, and it perfectly captured what makes this team so special. Half of us tackled the steep, challenging trek up Grassi Knob for those incredible summit vistas, while the other crew held down the fort with an epic (and competitive!) round of disc golf. We wrapped it all up the only way we know how—with a backyard BBQ and a lot of laughs.

As owners, we say it all the time, but we truly believe we have one of the most talented, dedicated teams out there. Your track record for looking after the Calgary community is second to none, but seeing how well you all work and play together is what makes us most proud.

Huge gratitude to this amazing family. Thanks for bringing the energy, no matter the weather!
