In addition to celebrating an amazing class of music ed graduates, I also got to sit alongside these great Messiah alums. Dru Deitch received the mentor teacher award and Luke Forshey was invited to deliver the charge to the graduates. What a night!

What a gift it was to hang out with these ladies and the fine students at Camp Hill HS yesterday! And why am I orange?

It has been a great day of music-making by the HS students participating in our 6th annual Choristers’ Workshop. Dr. Adam Potter has been working with over 350 students from as far away as Sterling, VA. The day has also included a voice recital by our undergraduate music majors and sessions on things like vocal health, becoming a music majors, and sight-singing. Many thanks to the teachers who stepped away from the classroom for a day to provide students with this great experience. Who will we see back next year?

We asked some of our singers in the Susquehanna Youth and Children’s Chorales what they’re most grateful for — and their answers say it all.

This is impact. This is our future.

Music education, especially through choral singing, offers so much more than notes on a page. It builds confidence (just ask Nora), challenges musicianship, and creates lifelong friendships.

These young singers are growing not just as musicians, but as people — right now, in real time — because someone gave them the space to sing, to be heard, and to belong.

Let’s keep making that space.

When you give to the Susquehanna Chorale, you’re not just supporting music — you’re investing in young artists and their growth. 💛

Under the direction of Dru A. Deitch @druallison, the Youth Chorale performs “No Time” — a powerful reminder that the future of choral music is already here, and it’s full of energy, talent, and heart.

Our Educational Outreach Program (EOP) gives 4-8th grade, middle and high school students a place to grow, connect, and find their voice through choir. Your support helps make this possible.
