After the October 14 Police Commission meeting, one of our organizers was followed by a drone.

Hilariously, in that very same meeting , SFPD claimed they don’t surveil protestors or first amendment activity.

We all know that’s not true.
We have already filed PRA’s, and a formal complaint will be filed as well.

Surveillance is not Safety!

Today I introduced an ordinance to provide an additional $1.75 million for immigration legal services in San Francisco. I am thankful to my colleagues and Mayor @danielluriesf for their unanimous support. Thank you Supervisors Chan, Walton, Melgar, Chen, Mahmood, Sauter, Dorsey, Mandelman, Sherrill and Wong. In particular thanks to Board President Mandelman for waiving the 30-day wait period to hear this ordinance at the board ASAP.

Many thanks also go to community partners @larazacentrolegalsf @caasanfrancisco @dsa_sf @pslbayarea for mobilizing community to our emergency rally and to Controller Wagner and the City Attorney’s office for working on this legislation in less than 24 hours.

In less than 24 hours, San Francisco Immigrant rights communities and allies came out and stood up to demand that The City and County of San Francisco fund emergency lawyers and rapid response personnel to represent and gain the freedom of immigrants illegally detained in San Francisco and the Wider Bay Area.

We now have all 11 members of the board of supervisors and the mayor supporting legislation that will allow community organizations to hire lawyers and secure the freedom of dozens of immigrants illegally kidnapped by ICE.

San Franciscans demand more money for all housing!!!

This morning housing groups such as Community Tenants Association, SF Tenants Union, Council of Community Housing Organizations and more joined with Yes on C, Yes on I and Yes on Prop 1 to remind voters across the city how important it is that we fund measures to build the housing we desperately need. With nearly two weeks left to go, less than 10% of voters have returned their ballot, it’s vital we pass all three measures.

YES ON C, YES ON I, YES ON 1
