The Dison Dining Table features an elevated tabletop that brings a sense of visual lightness and refined character. Sharp chamfered edges enhance its floating appearance, while the minimal cuboidal legs—designed in a 1:2 ratio—create a subtle shift in perception, appearing thicker from the longer side and slimmer from the shorter side. When paired with a timeless Chandigarh Chair, it completes a minimal yet elegant dining interior.

*NewOnMag* This 4,752 sq. ft. weekend getaway, dubbed ‘Deck House’ features decks that serve unobstructed vistas of the boundless hills in Idukki. With minimalist interiors, sharp lines and an indigenous material palette, this haven casts an illusion of rising organically from the earth. Designed by Durga Sarath Architects @dsarchitects2 the home is ideal for cosy retreat where mornings drift gently surrounded by mist, and the hills feel close enough to touch.

Residing in the city of Ernakulam, Kerala, “with a penchant for adventure and a sociable lifestyle, the family yearned for a personal getaway,” shares Sarath Kumar @sarath201115 and Durga Cholapurath @durga.cholapurath, Principal and Partner Architect of Durga Sarath Architects. Further, the architects add, the family sought “(a) space suitable for hosting gatherings with family and friends, while also serving as a private retreat.” The site’s treacherous terrain served as the design inspiration for the home’s minimalistic ambience.

#aplusdhomes Homes like this are just a hill away!

When a Kerala-based family reached out to Durga Sarath Architects @dsarchitects2, their request was simple: "a space suitable for hosting gatherings with family and friends, while also serving as a private retreat." Situated amid lush greenery on a sprawling one-acre plot in Kuttikkanam, Kerala, this property is perched at the highest vantage point in the area, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The silence is gently broken by the sounds of birds and insects, and the air is fresh and clean. Both the architects and homeowners agreed on a unifying vision: to design a space that mirrors the natural beauty surrounding it.

“When we visited, it was such a commanding site with heavy contours that images came crowding in. The landscape was an essential element to develop this project along with the site topography since a larger part of the site consisted of stones” says Sarath Kumar and Durga Cholapurath, Principal and Partner Architect respectively.
