This gala was so fun!! It’s wonderful when we can turn something we are fighting for into a reason to get together and celebrate. My platform will always be an inclusive space and I do my best to support businesses and people with that same mindset. #promomissouri #advocates #lgbt #gala #nonprofit

At Planned Parenthood Great Rivers Action, we are proud to endorse another round of reproductive freedom champions who will fight for a future where every Missourian — regardless of race, zip code, income, gender identity, or sexual orientation — has the freedom to make their own decisions about their body, health, and future.

Yesterday, I (Jacqueline Dace) had a great time hanging out with my friends and fellow executive directors, Emily Kohring from Bread and Roses Missouri and Sheila Sudderwalla from Artists First St. Louis, as we presented our panel "Equity, Ethics & Survival: The Realities Facing Nonprofits" at the AFP Conference/Gateway Conference on Philanthropy.

We were lucky to have our friend Rachel D'Souza, the awesome founder of Gladiator Consulting, moderating it, as we highlighted the pressing issues we face and emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change.

OK St. Louis! Since you elected me 2 years ago, I’ve been taking seriously my positions as your 6th Ward Democratic Committeeman & 5th Senatorial District Dem Committeeman.

And over these past few months I’ve been busting my butt to make sure you have the info you need to go cast your vote with confidence.

I’m pleased to say that no 6th Ward Dem voters will have any race on their ballot where they have to pick “the lesser evil”. We have (at least) one genuinely good candidate running in every single race on our ballots.

And I’ll humbly take a little credit for making sure that was the case. When I ran for Committeeman, my highest priority was to make sure that our neighbors had real primary candidate options and would never again be asked to vote for sexual abusers, bigots, or corporate sellouts.

But now it’s your turn. You have to remind your family, friends, followers, & group chats to go vote. Only you can make sure that the best candidates make it through to the next round, so that we have good options in November, too.

And here’s a cheat sheet! The members of the 6th Ward Democrats believe these are the best answers to every question. Save & share it with your friends to make their lives easier.

Early voting starts TODAY, and as your 6th Ward Committeeman, I want to share all of our official Democratic endorsements.

The 6th Ward Dems’ endorsement process is the most robust in St. Louis.
I personally began meeting with and vetting candidates last fall, including helping recruit Progressive candidates for open seats.
The 6th Ward’s process officially started back in April, when we had almost every candidate attend our 4-hour public forum/debate, with questions from the audience.
In May, our members held a closed-door discussion where we analyzed every race, looking at values, viability, experience, and temperament. At these discussions we intentionally make space for members to discretely share potential concerns, especially stories of poor treatment of staff, corruption, racism, and sexual misconduct.
After the discussion, our few dozen members are then able to cast secret ballots online, including an option of “No Endorsement”. The majority vote gets the endorsement.

That’s the rigorous process these candidates went through.
They are each the best, most Progressive candidate for their office.
But if it turns out they aren’t, I’ll call them out and then personally help recruit a new candidate to primary them next time.

St. Louis deserves strong, competent leaders who share our values and are willing fight for our us.

Had a great time at Pride in spite of the heat. Today we pause to remember the trailblazers like Marsha P. Johnson whose actions ushered in the origin of Pride. Let us remember that the gains we’ve seen have come with years of struggle and sacrifice and we cannot allow the rights that we’ve gained to be erased. We join together in celebration and resistance. #pride #pridestl #pridemonth #stl #stlouis
