Join us tonight for the virtual opening of DEEP FAKE! Link in bio for Mozilla Hubs room. We are thrilled to celebrate the work of all the incredible artists in this exhibition! More digital engagements to come. 👽👀🥂🎆🌃 Intelligence merges: artificial materials become intertwined and embedded within organic structures of intelligence as emergent technologies sharpen. Neural lacing threatens autonomy; facial recognition jeopardizes our privacy; and deep fakes imperil the truth. AI and machine learning challenge the capacity of human and non-human animal intelligences. In the context of this merger, who is really in charge? What ethical quandaries arise, and what moral responsibilities do we have as biological and technological evolution converge? Artists in this exhibition both challenge technological evangelism and reject techno-skepticism, addressing a range of positionalities towards AI. To what end do we embrace the learning of machines and the generation of artificially intelligent bodies? How are we implicated, and whose lives are at stake? Utilizing a variety of media, the exhibition seeks to brush the tipping point of AI and consider the ethics and morality of intellectual lacing across class, geography, space, and epistemology. Featured artists include: Annette Markham, Samir Bhowmik & Jukka Hautamaki, Chris Combs, Derek Curry & Jennifer Gradecki, Dasul Kim, Eli Joteva & Provides Ng & Ya Nzi & Artem Konevskikh, Eric Anderson, Heather Lowe, Henry F. Brown, Ian Heisters, Janna Avner, Jeroen van Loon, Liliana Farber, Bruno Moreschi & Gabriel Pereira, Laine Rettmer & Isabel Beavers, and Tyler Bohm.

SHARE SCREEN MFA PREVIEW EXHIBITION Screen is becoming a public space. In the context of the pandemic, we convene online and communicate through screens. The act of sharing screens is a public performance. Our desktop is both a home and a stage. There are times when we gather online and feel pixelated. Our voices are low-passed and we move with the speed of our network. Our image resolution becomes an important part of our presence. Speakers speak for us and the video portraits are our new faces. In this situation where screens take over, the 2021 UCLA DMA MFA cohort presents their preview exhibition, SHARE SCREEN. SHARE SCREEN takes into account the screen as the main medium, and so the tension in digital space. Concrete interactions are made virtual as exchange of data, while conversely, a mouse click some distance away is also a remote yet intimate touch on the artworks themselves. This exhibition features eleven works by Alvaro Azcarraga, Tristan Espinoza, Zheng Fang, Zhengyang Huang, Zhengzhou Huang, Dasul Kim, Sam Malabre. Within the gaps between digital media and our mediated environments, these works make space for thoughts around the artificial and the biological, synthetic and organic, fantasy and reality, simulation and appropriation. @share_screen #uclaarts

We are so excited for our next exhibit at The Mothership (HQ) co-facilitated by the amazing @sciartinitiativeinc, curated by @isabelbeavers. This exhibit features artists and artist teams from around the world contemplating the origins and overwhelming potential of Deep Fake to shift our perspective on what is real and how reality is shaped. The opening reception will take place virtually and the gallery will be open by appointment, thereafter. This is an exciting multimedia show not to be missed! #deepfake #sciartinitiative #artist #sciart #techart #futurethinking #algorithms #machinelearning

On near.rest my project "Acts in Translation" features two windows having a moment together. There are about 80 ambient recordings taken from 50 different people in 37 different cities from their homes due to quarantine or self- isolation. They are procedurally sequenced with each other, binding separate places and times into the moment. This sequencing is different for every single person. In contrast, the stories are globally synchronized and play at the beginning of every hour. ⁣The one that plays this week is about a broken heart. 💔 ➿🌐➰⁣ Sounds in these IG videos from Philly, USA, Baincthun, France, Ensenada, Mexico, and Fortazela, Brazil⁣ ➰🌐➿⁣ Special thanks to @hiradsab for his technical contributions⁣ ➿🌐➰⁣ Audio contributions by @atomkaye @alless0 @andreneverdie @austenerblat @aveeesha @beritgilma @clarissa__ribeiro @clmfrt @dsuriii @xodonut @eltonskuns @farazdirin @hooraypublic @hkg_knights @jasminxanthos @jimmyzhi @jodi.cheung @goolvart @karinaxlpz @kevz.d @gggoshinski @laurenleemack @lloydgalbraith @fa_teague @matteo.zamagni @ptklma @dotson.m @pert.young.rat @sleepdebtmusic @ornatebrainworm @wholesomejewellery @notoriouslybigwang @morehshin @omargottheshot @panchoblood @spiritualclaritypath @rehemoth @nindiya_re @_hyperseas @myalteremo @shriyaravishankar ⁣ ++ Arina Mahmoudian, Bartek Biernacki, Doan Ming Dang, Jennifer Steinkamp, Manuel Oliveira, & Mohamed Allam

Our third prize winning artwork is a favorite among QNS team members. It is all white with raised areas creating dramatic shadows that express the artists vision. We're very grateful that she donated this gorgeous piece to QNS. Please watch the interview with author Kim Dasul @dsuriii to understand the meaning behind this fantastic piece! Link in bio!
