⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FINDING MY VOICE — FIVE STARS

My favourite film of the London Independent Film Festival so far.
Playing as part of the October 2026 edition of LIFF, Arabella Burfitt-Dons's music-infused coming-of-age drama FINDING MY VOICE genuinely surprised me with just how far it was prepared to go.

At its centre is an extraordinary performance from multi-talented newcomer Anais Garness as Melanie — and when I say newcomer, this is remarkably her first acting role.

Sharing the screen with Michelle Ryan, Nick Moran, Rachel Warren, Lily Harvey and Tracy Shaw, Garness proves she can not only sing but has the acting chops to carry some incredibly challenging material.
Burfitt-Dons, meanwhile, handles Donna Taylor's story with the confidence of a far more seasoned filmmaker. This may only be her second feature, but you really wouldn't know it.

Thought-provoking, gripping and powered by music expertly handled by Nick Southwood, Finding My Voice is the standout of LIFF for me so far.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For every vote, share and message we’d love to say a MASSIVE Thank you. ❤️

Being nominated for Best Independent Film at the National Film Awards has been an incredible moment for Finding My Voice.

Independent films only exist because people choose to believe in them, & every single person who took the time to vote, shared our posts, told a friend, or cheered us on became part of this journey.

To everyone who supported us, thank you for helping give this film a voice.

Now we wait… Whatever happens next, we’re incredibly proud of what this little film has achieved.
