A little break was long overdue. ❤️

This trip to Mohegan Sun to see Weird Al Yankovic wasn’t a last-minute getaway—it was planned months in advance, long before the date of the Jersey City Council meeting on the budget and property taxes was set.

Yes, I knew I’d be missing an important meeting. That’s why I made sure my voice was still heard. I sent emails, shared my thoughts by text, and made my concerns about the budget, transparency, and the impact on taxpayers known before the vote.

Public service and civic engagement matter deeply to me, but so does remembering that I’m a person outside of that work. Sometimes you have to recharge, make memories, and be present with the people you love. Taking care of yourself doesn’t erase your commitment to your community.

Advocacy isn’t measured by showing up to every single meeting—it’s measured by consistently showing up for your city over time. This week, I chose to show up for myself, too.

Now, back to regularly scheduled civic engagement… after a little Weird Al and some well-earned rest. 🎶✨

One year married. 🤍

365 days of love, laughter, inside jokes, adventures, wrestling shows, concerts, late-night conversations, and building a life together one day at a time.

A year ago, I said “I do” to my favorite person. Today, I’m even more grateful for the life we’ve created together. Thank you for being my safe place, my biggest supporter, my partner in every sense of the word, and the person who still makes me smile like it’s our first date.

Marriage isn’t about perfection—it’s about choosing each other over and over again. And after one year, I would choose you every single time.

Here’s to our first trip around the sun as husband and wife, and to all the adventures still waiting for us.

Happy first anniversary, David. I love you more than words can say. 🖤✨

It's not the holiday season without Holiday Karaoke! One of my favorite iterations of our gathering because of its super festive nature.

We wore ugly sweaters, exchanged gifts and sang more religious songs than I have since I was in Catholic school. I celebrate a secular Christmas, but the religious trauma and conditioning runs deep. 🤣

The new tradition of White Elephant went well again, full of fun surprises and even gift theft! I'm guilty of this, sorry Jack. Lol

Afterwards, those of us who were still left had ramen for dinner to celebrate my birthday, nice and simple. I can't wait for another year of fun karaoke moments ~

Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like a very delayed upload from Halloween! Since karaoke is upon us, of course it's time for me to remember that I didn't upload the pictures from last karaoke.

Derp!

Anyway, enjoy the chaos that ensued; filled with costumes, smiles, drinks and questionable melodies. And a penis hat!

Last night was loud, chaotic, and absolutely cathartic. 🎶 I’ve always liked some Nine Inch Nails songs here and there, but this concert wasn’t just for me - it was for inner teenage David. The kid who needed to feel the drums shake the floor, hear the guitars cut through the dark, and scream-sing the lyrics that once felt like lifelines. 🖤

Sometimes joy means stepping back into those teenage shoes, letting the music crack something open, and remembering that those moments of raw noise and release still matter. This was healing wrapped in distortion pedals and flashing lights.

Here’s to giving our younger selves the moments they always deserved. ✨ #NineInchNails #InnerTeenager #JoyThroughMusic

In keeping with my tradition of not uploading pictures until much later, here is a photo dump from that one time my buddy David got hitched.

Of course, it was a metal/wrestling/goth event, a vibe that very much complimented the happy couple. I felt very honored to share in this occasion and wish them nothing but continued bliss.

When you design an Eternal Champions Belt for your friends’ wedding, you gotta do the Triple H when a title change happens pose. Idk I don’t make the rules, big dawg. 🤣🪄

Danielle and David’s Main Event 💍🌹

A small, beautiful reception hosted at @hudsontable in Hoboken. Long time fans and supporters of our grass roots concept in Jersey City, traveling all the way to Vernon @foxandbearlodge to experience our food for the first time where they celebrated their engagement, to now creating a custom menu built of all of their favorite things and moments throughout their journey. Was such an honor to be considered for this incredibly important moment in their lives and I know it is one none of us will forget.

Sending so much love to the new Mr & Mrs ❤️

Shoutout to @maxuxujc for the best tortillas in JC and @ryanb.cooks coming in for the assist and @blackgirlunbothered for being such a great coordinator.

🖤 Saturday, June 7, 2025 🖤
Our wedding reception was a goth garden dream—candles, velvet, skulls, black lace, and so much love. We filled the room with our people, our stories, and every little detail we cared about—from the floral altar installation by Wicked Florist to our gorgeous venue Hudson Table, where Five Tastes served a plated dinner that had folks literally licking their forks (no seconds because we’re fancy like that, okay?).

To the vendors who brought this vision to life—The Paperie, Peach Tree Design Shop, Margie’s Kitschy Kitchen, Split Dye Studio—thank you for making everything feel so deeply personal and us.

Of course, no good wedding story is complete without a little drama. Two guests pulled up two hours late, sat themselves at the memorial table (yes, that table), and refused to leave—even after being asked multiple times. Screaming ensued, I activated full teacher diva mode, and finally some real ones escorted the clowns out. They didn’t even eat. Just vibes, bad ones.

But chaos couldn’t compete with the joy in that room. We toasted, we left no crumbs, we honored our loved ones (including Mator, always), and then while packing up, “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo came on and my mom from above was like, “I like this one.” Mom always had taste.

To everyone who came, laughed, cried, and celebrated with us—thank you. Y’all made our night unforgettable. Enjoy these photos and videos below however wait especially for the ones from those iconic disposable cameras 📸💀🖤

Spring time karaoke was a festive and fun affair as usual. We were given a room that we've never been in before! A lot of shenanigans were had with curry and pastries to top things off.

If only every day was karaoke.

Today marks our 2-year anniversary, and I can’t help but reflect on how it all began. Two years ago to the day, I made the decision to go on a date with David — a decision that turned out to be the best one I’ve ever made. Funny enough, I had just pulled myself out of a situation where I was being love-bombed by someone who wasn’t even truly single. I almost let that mess keep me from giving someone real a chance, but I’m so glad I didn’t. 💫

For the longest time, I was convinced I wasn’t the marrying kind — very Carrie Bradshaw of me — but now look at us: one year engaged and just three months away from becoming husband and wife. Never in a million years did I think a casual date would turn into a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. But here we are, building a life that feels better than anything I could have dreamed up. Thank you, David, for loving me for exactly who I am and for showing me that sometimes the best things come when you least expect them. Cheers to us and to forever. 💕✨
