SURVIVAL MADE IT 🔥🔊 Glad to see it finally made it to the session last night in Bristol in the great city over at @dubkasm HQ where we had originally started works on this project back in December 2023 (it was really a cold winters day)

A fun-fact of this tune is that the whole project began from an single riff idea that @benglass77 had adapted from playing about 12 years ago on the sound to then finally getting it recorded on a production and what a wonderful full-circle moment for it to have been used on the next collaborative project that we had entitled ‘Survival’ which is a fitting title for the wonderful Melody that Digi led for this one - as well as it being a fitting honour to our bredrin @strydagram who has worked at keeping the legendary @sufferahs_choice going for the past 30 years on airwaves, through the label and occasional dances alongside @teachings_in_dub nights!

Thanks to @abashantiofficial for running this one inna fine style for the masses as usual as that is what they come to the dance for 🔊🔥 Big up @qss_acoustics with the mini-rig setup!

One of them full circle moments when you end up in the same hotel with the producers of the song that was inspired at that same hotel after some likkle sound bwoy was chatting my name behind my back....he didnt realise Digistep could hear him and got 🔥🔥🔥

My link with Aba Shanti-I runs very deep, in this video Aba talks about his son @ashantiselahdub linking Digistep and I in the @dubkasm studio to record the dubplate he is running plus he recounts when I first visited him at his yard in Holloway Road and (Benji) Ashanti Selah, then a toddler, had a toy soundsystem which we played with “you get the preamp Stryda, I’ll get the scoops!” He goes on to talk about influences and role models, of the importance of elders around us, and how Ashanti Selah is now travelling the world musically and how proud he is of him and then he also mentions my son Cian. Each one teach one is the order of the day - this is more than just music.

This is why Aba joining me to celebrate my 30 years on the Bristol airwaves with the @sufferahs_choice means so much to me. It’s a family vibration! Tickets are down to final tier so grab yours if you wanna be with us at @strange_brew_briz on Saturday the 19th September for this intimate TID. 🔥🔈

Massive respect to @strydagram for spinning our latest release with the legendary @horaceandyofficial. We’ve been locking into the Sufferah's Choice Show, @dubkasm, and @teachings_in_dub for years—having a respected peer run your record is always a blessing.

Ypu can still grab a copy from our Bandcamp or you can get in touch directly. Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!

As the weekend approaches thought it only feels right to put this post up starting it with the endorsement of my latest release featuring @vivianjonesofficial RIEP being presented by none other than my good idren @strydagram with a grand introduction and spin on his legendary @sufferahs_choice show in the 30 year celebration of running the program and label pushing roots & culture for all generations to know and show respect to the music that has created the best lasting legacy of independence and growth with the foundation of Rastafari power and message!

Give much thanks for all the support that both you and Digi have shown me from day one and it’s an true honour to have known and worked with you as @dubkasm and been able to have our music be shared all over the world in the name of Love & Overstanding!

Also big up the @teachings_in_dub massive for still brining that space for the soundsystem culture to flourish in these times where we can still have that space to feel expression through dance and unity ✊🏽✊🏽🔥

Last picture in the post is me in front of the mural of our elder Ras B in St Paul’s, Bristol to mark his legacy for his family and all the community to remember his spirit forever!
