Your next Dublin adventure comes with clues, hidden art and a little treasure-hunting magic. 🗺️✨

Riverboxes are tucked into parks and green spaces across Dublin. Follow the clues, find each artwork and stamp your passport as you go. Find 13 or more and you can turn in your passport for a reward!

Swipe to see how it works, then get your passport at Dublin Arts Council, the Dublin Visitors Center or Dublin Library. You can also download one at the link in our bio!

Who’s coming on the hunt with you? 🔍

a few months ago, my mom and I ran a two-day Yūzen workshop hosted by @dublinarts . It was the Arts Council’s first public program in its newly established historic cabin and we were so happy the student’s work turned out so well ☺️
I had just come back from three months of (re)training in Yūzen and other textile techniques in Tokyo—more photos soon—and it was so nice to be a part of passing on this cultural knowledge.
to more workshops soon~

Yūzen is a hand-painted silk-dyeing method established in the late 1600s by Kyoto artist Miyazaki Yūzensai. The technique is defined by itome-nori, a fine line of resist paste that keeps dyes from bleeding, allowing for the incredibly detailed botanical scenes and seasonal motifs often found on kimonos. Because of its complexity, a traditional Yūzen kimono involves a collaborative journey with sometimes 20 specialists and can take up to a year to complete.
