POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just over two months of Canada. So very pretty. So very fond of rules. I loved your ferries, sea planes and trains, your speed limits, not so much. Swam and hiked and read and explored all over beautiful BC. Had so many friends and family come through, five stars.

Can’t get enough band breakups, ambition-driven performances, and life on the road? Looking for more books about singer songwriters who take the stage and make a scene? Here’s 12 books with music at the center. How many have you read?

2025 started and ended in a hot tub in the desert. In between there was much afternoon tea and dinner partying and reading and gardening and protesting and travel and ridiculous outfits and hangs with friends and trying to show up for the people who matter while the world felt like it was crumbling around us.

I hope there is less crumble next year and even more good food and togetherness.

What happens when five freelance book publicists on two coasts get together? They throw a party! It was fun to raise a glass together with so many of our Los Angeles new and old friends who love books and storytelling as much as we do.

So wonderful to see
@duchessofrock
@ingridclaytonphd &
@thevalorieclark @unrulyfigures
@burbankbookfest this weekend!

As a special bonus, I met @ninalaviva and posed for her pop up book Photo Booth @lafoto.booth 📚 📸

I love getting together with unruly women and celebrating them as they tell their stories and encourage other women to do the same 💕

As Valorie says, “Stay unruly.”

So happy to have @duchessofrock at the 2025 Burbank Book Festival 🫶

Sarah Tomlinson, a former music journalist, has been a ghostwriter since 2008, penning more than 20 books, including five New York Times bestsellers. Her debut novel, The Last Days of the Midnight Ramblers (Flatiron Books), published in 2024, was written in-between assignments for a who’s who of celebrity clients. In 2015, she published the father-daughter memoir, Good Girl (Gallery Books).

☆☆☆☆SYNOPSIS☆☆☆☆
Anke Berben is ready to tell all. A legendary model and style icon, she reveled in headline-grabbing romances with not one but three members of the hugely influential rock band the Midnight Ramblers. The band members were as famous for their backstage drama as for their music, and Anke is the only one who fully understands the tangled relationships, betrayals, and suspicions that have added to the Ramblers’ enduring appeal and mystique. That is most evident in the mystery around Anke’s role in the death of Mal, the band’s founder and Anke’s husband, in 1969.

When Mari Hawthorn accepts the job to work with Anke on her memoir, she is dead set on getting to the truth of Mal’s death. She has always been deft at navigating the fatal charms of celebrities, having grown up with a narcissistic, alcoholic father. As she ingratiates herself into the world of the band, she grows enchanted, against her better judgment, by these legendary rock stars. She knows she can’t get pulled in too deep, otherwise she’ll compromise her objectivity―and her integrity.

More @boucherconworldmystery shots with friends old and new. And the first pic is evidence that Canadians put ice in their beer. Or maybe that's just @bishopriderbooks

As usual I didn’t take nearly enough pictures at @boucherconworldmystery but I had a ridiculously good time. I feel so lucky to be welcomed into a community this kind, generous, and willing to stay up way too late talking about successes and failures and the writers we adore. Many thanks to all of you, you mean the world to me.

First Bouchercon since before the kids/COVID, and I had an absolute blast. Thanks to Team Bouchercon for inviting me as the Suspense Guest of Honor, and to @melizaabbott, who in addition to being one of my favorite writers is also an amazing interviewer. I got to drink a Vieux Carré at a rotating bar, ride a pedi-cab in a parade, reach my September calorie goal in five days, and enjoy some epic bons temps with friends old and new. I rolled into my 9:30 and 11:30 panels on the last morning in the commemorative T-shirt I bought at the fried chicken and daiquiri joint at 5AM. Proud to say I did Bouchercon to the max and will miss everyone until we meet again.

Bouchercon photo dump, Part 1...these are just a few of the fabulous authors I had the pleasure of meeting/seeing at the conference and remembered to take pictures with...

1. I was so, so excited to meet Raphael Montes and his husband Victor. Raphael was in town from Brazil, where he is a huge star! His book PERFECT DAYS was translated into English several years ago and it's one of my all-time favorites. So dark, so disturbing, so wrong...but so very right 🔥

2. I finally, finally met Hank Phillippi Ryan in person. She is just as amazing in real life!

3. I haven't seen Wendy Walker since Thrillerfest 2019 and we had a chance to catch up in person and talk about her upcoming book BLADE 🔥

4. Kelli Stanley, a fellow Bay Area author that I met at the Book Passage Mystery Writer's Conference and she is such a treasure.

5. Kate White, another legend who I have done online events with but finally met in person!

6. New books!

7. TOO OLD FOR THIS stack for sale...and they were sold out on Friday!

8. End of the road....Anthony nominee Audrey Lee and I arriving back in San Francisco last night.

I wish I took more photos, there were so many incredible authors, bloggers, influencers, readers, and librarians at this event 😍
