Some books stay with you. This one comes with dinner, too. On Thursday, author Carla Vass joins us at The Sanderling to celebrate the release of her debut novel, The Rally.

The evening begins at 6 PM and includes a three-course dinner inspired by the book, conversation with Carla and a signed copy of The Rally to take home. Tickets are $95. Come hungry. Leave with something new to read.

Friends in Duck, NC: We’ve got a few spots left for dinner on Thursday!!! I wrote an entire book basically so I could have two amazing chefs curate a menu around all the incredible places my characters travel! I absolutely cannot WAIT for this and hope to see you if you’re in the area! (Also even if you’re not in the area you should absolutely come anyway because it’s the @sanderlingresort and @duckscottage who happens to have the BEST coffee and books in Duck!)

the OBX is still that girl after summer 🤎🍂

less crowds, slower mornings, coffee runs, little shopping stops, beach walks, and cozy spots to grab food & drinks. honestly, you don’t need summer weather to have a good time out here.

save this for your next off-season OBX trip & send it to your friend who’s always down for a little day trip!

A European road trip, served family style. For our October 15 Novel Supper with @carlavassbooks, the journey begins with burrata and Mediterranean antipasti, continues with Tuscan braised short ribs and lemon-herb roasted branzino, and ends on a sweet note with limoncello bread pudding and chocolate mosaic cake.

Between courses: conversation about The Rally with its author. Join us at the Lifesaving Station at 6 p.m. Your ticket includes supper, tax, gratuity, and a copy of the book. Explore A Novel Supper through Experiences at thesanderling.com.

Introducing our “gold standard.” While we were coffee shop enthusiasts prior to this discovery, @duckscottage does indeed check all our boxes!

Okay but since I’m still reminiscing over our trip to the OBX last week, can we also take a moment for this cutie of a bookstore, @duckscottage ?! So cute & quaint but also, please look at all the birds on the front porch 😭🥰 #bookstore #bookstagram #bookish #shoplocal #bookgirlies

Needed some coffee to stay awake, haven’t adjusted to east coast time and waking really early. Was pleasantly surprised that what I thought was only a coffee shop was also a book store ❤️📚☕️ OBX ☀️🌊⛱️

If your reading list and your Bravo watchlist have a lot in common, this supper is for you. Think Housewives, Below Deck, and Summer House take on a European Car Rally—Carla Vass’s debut novel, already drawing national press and praise.

On October 15, Carla will join us in person at the Lifesaving Station for A Novel Supper: an evening of conversation with the author, book signing, and a three-course, family-style menu inspired by a European road trip.

Bring your questions. Your ticket includes a copy of The Rally, ready for Carla to sign. Pull up a chair at 6 p.m. Presented with @duckscottage. Find details and reserve through Experiences at thesanderling.com.
