Being Dukes daddy is one of the greatest joys of my life but honestly can also bring me the greatest anxiety and fear as well lol.

He’s truly just like me, looks more like mommy but acts just like his daddy. I’ve dealt with a lot of deep hurt over the past couple of months in regards to growing up, parents, distrust, having too much trust etc…

And I was just reminded again of something so important if not most important, “you have the power of life and death with the tongue”. Now regardless if you are a fan of the Bible or not that’s a very true statement and as a parent the decision is as simple but as difficult as that.

You can speak words, encouragement, not constantly allow your tiredness or frustration to speak for you but it really is a decision. But a decision that has to be backed up by your own healing and commitment to not personally put your child through what you went through.

I want to share this because it’s important to me as a parent and I also want to say again that it’s not easy, it’s not easy to deal with those things inside of you that have negatively shaped you, it’s hard being super tired and your kid won’t stop being a kid, it’s all super hard but the truth is we don’t have to make tons of shitty mistakes, we don’t have to see what’s been going on the past 3 years of people having to push away their parents because there is no boundary respect.

I don’t want Duke to just RESPECT me I want him to want me because I have proven myself as someone he can love, be loved by and trust.

Welcome to the world sweet boy🖤

He wasn’t due until this Friday but we was tired of waiting clearly.

Thankful for our sweet and healthy Kai and for my incredible, beautiful & strong best friend Kaleo who is a complete bad ass in too many ways…

So so proud of my wife for how hard she pushed through having a natural birth and also so proud of sweet Duke for already being a wild big brother.
