Alissa is a Chilean-Venezuelan artist based on Wurundjeri land, Naarm/Melbourne. They work in oil pastel and acrylic under the name dulcetnadas, somewhere between folk art, impressionism and magical girl anime.
For UNO they wanted to focus on the emotional and spiritual parts of the body — and on what rest and safety actually look like in working-class Chilean bodies. Cooking a good meal. Time with family and friends. Going to see a futbol match. Dancing. The things that bring joy in hard times.
They’re one of thirteen artists in the show. Each of them is painting a body in three parts — head, torso, feet — on separate canvases, so visitors can recombine them. 2,197 possible bodies.
18–22 November, Comber Street Studios, Paddington. More on the artists in bio.

🎨 Meet the artists of UNO.

Thank you to everyone who applied.
You made this genuinely hard.

Thirteen artists from different countries.
Between them Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, New Zealand and Australia. Painting, illustration, collage and Abstract Art.
Each one creates a triptych of the human body: head, torso, feet.

🔢 13 artists · 39 panels · 2,197 possible combinations

Across the run of the exhibition, visitors propose the combinations. One artist's head, another's torso, a third's feet. Every visit builds a different body.

📅 18–22 November · Sydney 🔗 Meet all thirteen — link in bio

Supported by the Consulate General of Chile in Sydney.

Hello there, everyone!

If you'd like to spread the word about our fundraiser garage sale happening on August 1st, we have assembled a folder with variants ready for usage.

We'd appreciate as much help as possible with this as all funds from this event go towards the fund for the assessments to attempt to qualify NDIS support (as well as giving them short term assistance against the racist, ableist society they face every day.).

We can change a life here, people! Come and show up in any way you can!!!

PS: if you can't show up on the day, here's the information.

Beermash exhibition “love letter to smith street” opening night was such a huge success!!
Needless to say I’m so happy and feel so grateful that this is my career.
First time curating an entire exhibition, running all the behind the scenes to make this happen. I cannot believe the amount of work and hours that goes into organising something like this…and the turnout was remarkably high! This event exceeded my expectations and I could not be more thankful for everyone involved!!
Special thank you to Beermash and everyone who helped me out to put this event together!

The exhibition is on this weekend April 24-26
Beermash, 306 smith st Collingwood

Popped in to @beermash this evening to see 'Love Letter to Smith St', a small artist-led show curated by the lovely @blancartsy that feels perfectly at home in this cosy, dimly lit bar

Featuring pieces from @blancartsy, @majagrace.ink, @darko.mp3, @dulcetnadas, @sineadcreaneyart & @artbymeredithw, each artist occupies a different section of bar in a way that symbiotically complements the space and the artworks themselves. I'm a big fan of the little artists' print stations dotted throughout!

It's open this weekend for your viewing (and drinking) pleasure anytime the bar is!
