November 2022 - a former colleague from my time as Art Director on the @chrisgeth show, reached out to me looking for a collection of original puppet characters for a new show written and directed by @spaceprincejulio …
I immediately thought, “this sounds amazing…and too much work for me to do alone!” So I got my buddies @monkeyboysproductions to jump in on the fun.
January 2023 - we got to work!
Boy, am I so pleased and impressed with the magic the Monkey Boys team conjured up!
@fuzzheadpuppets designed the puppet “Melf” and I built it!
@dylan_pecora @canoeviking and @freddimeglio designed and built the beautiful “Bibo” robot. And @astrobot_art created a TON of tiny Smurf-like characters with an additional team of folks.
These kinds of projects are rare and wonderful to work on. Especially when it feels so different from the usual puppet tv shows for children.
Thanks so much to Monkey Boys Productions for making this work look easy.
“FANTASMAS” is available on @hbo MAX June 7th!!

An extremely gifted artist has captured me and @nick.vandenberg in our truest form. Thank you @ephemeralust for the most insanely cool rendering of me and my buddy. I can’t stop looking at it. 🤩
@beavisandbutthead never looked so good.
