The most successful spaces rarely rely on excess. They come together through proportion, material, light, and restraint. A continuous grain through custom millwork. A carefully considered sightline. A material selected for both its character and longevity. ㅤ For us, sustainability is part of that same design conversation—considering not only how a home looks today, but how its materials, systems, and spaces will perform for years to come. ㅤ Design+Build: @sustainable9 Interior Design: @sustainable9 Architect: @unfold_architecture Photography: @spacecrafting_photography ㅤ #CustomHome #MidCenturyModern #InteriorArchitecture #FloatingStairs

Only on the Homes by Architects virtual tour, Home 2, designed by @twelve12design, is a unique update on the traditional A-frame cabin, a form synonymous with American cabin culture. With laminated timber framing and minimalist detailing, the structure feels both grounded and elevated—evoking simplicity, elegance, and timelessness. The home’s modest footprint supports the client’s preference for compact living and underscores the project’s commitment to sustainability and universal design. Beyond aesthetics, the home exemplifies regenerative design through its alignment with the Living Building Challenge’s CORE Green certification. Materials were vetted for health and sustainability, and innovative systems like rainwater harvesting, solar panels, and an energy recovery ventilator work together to minimize the home’s environmental impact while enhancing comfort and performance. See this home on the virtual Homes by Architects Tour with 3D interactive tour software, an interview with the lead architect, and photo gallery. A huge thank you to @dwell44showroom for sponsoring Shell Lake Cabin on the @homesbyarchitectstour and supplying the windows for this project. The windows are an integral part of the design, carefully positioned to frame the lake and surrounding woods, bring natural light into the cabin, and blur the boundary between indoors and out. From the dramatic three-sided windows within the A-frame to the more intimate openings throughout the home, each creates a unique connection to the landscape. We’re so grateful to @dwell44_showroom for helping bring this vision to life—and to AIA Minnesota, our clients, sponsors, and volunteers for making this year’s tour possible. Haven’t had a chance to see Shell Lake Cabin yet? The virtual tour is open through October 4! Head to the AIA Homes by Architect Tour to explore the home and take a closer look at the design, materials, and story behind this special project. #Twelve12Architecture #Twelve12Design #ShellLakeCabin #AIAHomesByArchitect #HomesByArchitectTour #Dwell44Showroom #WisconsinArchitecture #CabinArchitecture #AFrameArchitecture #SustainableDesign #LakeHouseDesign

I had the pleasure this last weekend to volunteer some of my time towards the @homesbyarchitectstour and @aiaminnesota at house #10 by @twelve12design and @erotascustombuilding . Shout out to Ann and Liz and the whole team for helping to make this an incredible experience for so many. . The best part? Not only did I get a chance to see so many friendly faces, there wasn’t a single person that walked through and didn’t appreciate the opportunity to be there. 🤍 . @dwell44showroom …we see you - so many who loved the exterior!! @field_outdoor and the landscaping was out of this world beautiful! 👏
