My bro and I have been doing a lot of training for awhile on knife defenses. Trying out things we've been taught. Experimenting with other stuff. Doing attacks more true to how they happen: fast and violent. I'm not going to say we're the best or that we've discovered anything new. But what we have found is the majority of things in a curriculum taught as if it will work in a real knife attack do not work. We've found that simple, basic things like a good arm drag work really well. Your counter has to be fast and violent, never allowing the attacker a chance to recover. Don't be satisfied with taking what someone teaches you as the end all be all. Sometimes that stuff doesn't work at all. Sometimes you just need to tweak it a tad to work for you. Go train, drill things under as realistic conditions as you can and find what truly works. You don't want the time you discover what you've been doing on the mats doesn't work to be when someone is really trying to put a sharp piece of steel inside you. @dynamisalliance @domraso #crusheverything #thewilltofight #winklerknives
