📣: The first Episode of - Shoulder to Shoulder, Sweat and Joy: The @gomcircus story has dropped on the @carnivalcinema YouTube - LINK IN BIO 👆🏽

Shot over 13 years by myself and my multi-tasking collaborator @mattdubyrnes .

This is the first in a multi episode longer form doco series brought to you by Carnival Cinema.

It is a kaleidoscope of footage chronicling the evolution of Gravity & Other Myths @gomcircus — a circus company formed by a group of friends who met at Adelaide based youth circus, @cirkidz as teenagers.
What began as a hobby turned into a global-touring, award-winning multi-ensemble company.
The series celebrates human connection, artistic bravery, and the power of community, and it gives a unique insight into one of Australia’s most internationally renowned performing arts companies.
It’s raw, intimate and a little rough around the edges.

Time to stretch my cinema legs 🎬

SOLASTALGIA - A contemporary performance work on love and grief. Encapsulating both the trauma we carry as people and the ever changing world around us. A multimedia performance containing the brilliant photography by @stephenmdupont , live music by @e.e.phoenix , movement and acting pieces by a group of wonderful human beings, filmed by yours truely and created by the wonderful @bodyofideas .

My sincere thanks to Samantha Chester for directing and trusting me with such an incredible project.

What an immersive, creative and joyful experience.
I enjoyed every moment.

Solastalgia
…and all at once
we are in a disappearing landscape—
wondering how to hold ourselves up.
As the pieces drift away from us,
we cling on
’til our arms are pinched from trying—
it nearly, almost tears us apart.

We are missing
while arriving -

————————————
Playing around with texture and form with our incredible DOP Harry Kielly for the new work Solastalgia - in these times…..to be able to sit with grief….to work with understanding and connection to see it up close - there is beauty to be found.

So come to Kangaroo Valley 27-1 March 2026 to see Solastalgia - there will be more of this incredible work by @harry_kielly as well as composition by @e.e.phoenix, vision design by @mith_xyz and set design @righteye

This is VOICES, it sings when you spin it!

Built by Adelaide’s @pulsing.heart Studio, VOICES features 50 light-up tubes that respond to touch and movement, each triggering a unique voice in a custom choir by @e.e.phoenix in collaboration with @sydney.philharmonia .

Catch it in @illuminateadelaide ’s City Lights program from July 4–20. Watch the full video via the link in bio.

Illuminate Adelaide is presented in principal partnership with the @southaustralia Tourism Commission on behalf of the @sagovernment .

“Just like this” VOICES premiere July 4, 2025 @illuminateadelaide . Created by @pulsing.heart, composed by me @e.e.phoenix and performed by VOX Ensemble of @sydney.philharmonia conducted by Elizabeth Scott, this was a unique and complex project to compose, organise, perform, record and edit. It’s been a joy!
.
The song here is called Lemon Sugar Pancakes. Singing of joy and aching sweetly with the nostalgia of summers past, it’s a bubbling six part choral piece that expands to 16 voices at times with multiple divisi.
