Back in,Sydney, no time to waste. A few studio visits already lined up.

First stop was the renowned Archibald Prize 2019 winner, Tony Costa. Known for his lyrical landscapes and portraiture, it was a privilege to meet the artist behind the work. His studio is impressive, filled with natural light and carefully ordered, a space that clearly reflects a finely tuned practice. I was shown his new body of work, what a privilege, it’s impressive to say the least.

A short skip and a hop away, I visited Jeanette Siebols. Her large studio space is filled with tools of making brushes, surfaces, materials—under high ceilings that seem to mirror the scale of her work. Working in diptychs and triptychs, she commands physical space in a way that invites immersion. The work itself is poetic, tactile, and deeply exploratory.

I was then generously invited to lunch at their place, an unexpected highlight. A Lebanese feast, along with fresh pressed juices, made for a memorable pause in the day. Food, unsurprisingly, always wins me over.

Next was Elefteria Vlavianos, an abstract painter whose process led practice is both disciplined and expansive. Her studio reflects that commitment: layered works in progress, a sense of ongoing momentum, and a clear focus on scale and material transformation. She begins with small maquettes before translating them into large, bold works. I left feeling genuinely inspired.

Finally, I visited my old friend Eduardo Wolfe-Algeria. He was immersed in a new series of pairings, shaped by recent overseas residencies, possibly Paris. His practice continues to explore the interconnectedness of humans and the more than human world. The work is playful, enchanting, and whimsical, opening up alternate worlds for the viewer. Always good to catch up and see the work evolving.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to have these intimate moments with artists, where we chat about their work, art, life and always a giggle!

Stay tuned for…………..

Well aren’t we lucky 🍀 it’s a baker’s dozen, folks.

Super excited to see pieces from the Morton sisters and Janice Clark at @art.leven presented in partnership with @utopiaartcentre, and the @imprintcontemporary group show at one of our favourites, @chauffeur_syd.

NOW SHOWING | 'Where the Light Rests' featuring Galia Gluckman, Elefteria Vlavianos and Agneta Ekholm.

Join us Thursday, 4 June from 5-7pm for the Opening Event coinciding with @firstthursdays_rushcutters

Bringing together three distinct yet deeply connected practices, 'Where the Light Rests' considers surface as a responsive field shaped through touch, time and the quiet accumulation of process. Through layered paper constructions, restrained painterly compositions and luminous wax-based works, each artist explores the ways material can hold memory, register change and transform our experience of light.

🗓️ Exhibition dates: 28 May - 27 June

Also join us tomorrow from 2-4pm for Janet Parker-Smith's artist talk!

THIS IS WHAT WE’VE BOUGHT RECENTLY.

I love when my clients’ value art - when they see the beauty that a painting or sculpture can bring to their home. What a joy this part of my job is. Lots from @curatorialandco this month!
