Huge day for coaching athlete @e_belifting for crushing her comp yesterday.

Hit PRs on all 2nd and 3rd attempts going 9/9 on the day and hitting over a thousand pound total for the first time! She won her class and won best lifter for the whole meet.

Squat: 336
Bench: 203.5
Dead: 461

Before moving she came to us with knee pain and struggling to train pain free. We worked with her on improving loading capacity in the knees and going over mechanics with lifting.

We agreed to work together on helping her achieve her goals as a powerlifter and haven’t looked back. She shows up every day and is always looking for ways to grow and improve as an athlete.

We appreciate the trust you have given us in guiding you and helping you throughout this entire process.

The goal is nationals and we are only getting better.

Time to work 😈💪🏽

Blessed and highly favored. The best is yet to come! 🤘🏾

MY FIRST POWERLIFTING COMPETITION: THE RECAP 🥉🫶🏾

still can’t believe I officially competed in my first powerlifting competition and medaled🥉! y’all have no idea the path that ensued to get here, starting with the fact that this wasn’t even officially decided until JULY.

I actually need surgery on my shoulder and was supposed to be getting it in june… but long story short it didn’t happen and I’ve already been teasing about wanting to compete and dabbling in training more with powerlifting since late last year, so I decided… why not now? 🤭

2025 has been the WORST year of my life from dealing with injuries throughout the year and losing my grandmother in june. so this was huge to even make it here… but I made it. because of GOD. He has given me the strength that only can be God-attested, BELIEVE ME 🙏🏾💖.

now, let’s talk lifts:
SQUATS: SOLID SQUAT DAY FOR ME! all white lights across the board, and hit a 226 lb PR! 😁
181lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️
203lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️
226lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️

BENCH: bench got the best of me 🥵! it’s my most inconsistent lift so I knew it could go either way, so I wasn’t too stressed about the outcome, and knew I just had to go with the flow. and I was STILL disappointed LOL. failed my 2nd and 3rd attempt and was not expecting to fail both, especially since I’ve hit this more than once; if anything thought I’d just miss the 3rd since I was gonna attempt a PR. it is what it is and I know getting back to prep what to put even more emphasis on in the meantime!
88lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️
103lbs: 🔴🔴🔴
103lbs: 🔴🔴🔴

DEADLIFTS: baby I’m a deadlift QUEEN and I had no stresses. was ofc nervous going into my 3rd attempt since it was a PR and I’d be breaking 300lbs, but nonetheless I DID THAT!!! 38lb PR 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤪
237lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️
263lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️
303lbs: ⚪️⚪️⚪️

shoutout to my MOM @mzbosslady757 for the photos/videos of my lifts and the support!! ❤️

shoutout to @burman.barbell for deciding to help handle me when he found out that this was my 1st meet! and shoutout to all the cool AND STRONG FOLK I MET! we have some TALENT out in VA!!! 👏🏾👏🏾 can’t wait til I’m up there with y’all! 🙂‍↕️💁🏾‍♀️

E came to us with one goal to recover better, perform stronger, and step on the platform ready to compete. With a powerlifting meet in November this year and nationals in her sights for next year, she’s done everything it takes to lock in.
•
She shows up, puts in the work, and trusts the process. And that’s what makes an athlete dangerous.
•
Having a team in your corner changes everything. It gives you direction, accountability, and a plan designed for you NOT the internet.
•
At Barkstrong, your goals become our goals. We build the roadmap, you bring the effort, and together we get results.

Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow. Did you workout today?

WHEN YOU START MAKING DECISIONS BASED ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND NOT HOW YOU FEEL, THAT’S WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGES.

Make sure you follow my gym homies that are seen in the different clips, they’re tagged in the reel 🤝🏾

Two things about me is I take pride in giving people their flowers while they’re in human form and I truly believe that Iron Sharpens Iron… If we let it.

Go be great @jokag._ He is a great dad, who is fresh out the military and looking to stay active. Also plays sports when not with wife & kid.

Go be great @e_belifting 🤝🏾A Champion Powerlifter, Follow her page and enjoy the journey. Since I’ve been going to @powerhousegymbrandon this athlete is in there tossing around heavy circles.

First powerlifting meet in the books. After @e_belifting did her first meet, I told her I'd do one with her, and this past Saturday that I did. Second time being at a @greedislandbarbell
for a comp, and first time participating, and they don't disappoint. The community and atmosphere of this place is top notch, and the wallpaper is 100/10.

8/9 successful attempts. Got a little overzealous on my third bench attempt and jumped higher than I knew I should have but all in good fun.

Best attempt:

Squat: 225kg (496lbs)
Bench: 127.5kg (281lbs) (failed 137.5kg (303lbs)
Deadlift: 235kg (518lbs) (PR)

I'm definitely going to compete again at some point in the future. Despite my grim face it was a lot of fun and an overall awesome experience.

Shout out to
@mearanm for coming down to support and taking all these videos❤️
@e_belifting for the drip and doing a damn good job this weekend as well. The changes and developments you make never cease to amaze me.

For everyone else who was cheering on and supporting thank you as well, y'all kept the energy pumping all day which helped a lot, especially for those of us who were present for all the sessions.

A birthday post might come soon
