POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today, my EP “Honey, We Got Time” is out for all ears to listen to!! These songs span a timeline of 2021-2025, from writing to sitting as a voice memo for a couple years, to finding them again at the right time, to recording, to sitting in Dropbox, to a few singles to finally being out for everyone to listen to.

I listen to these songs and I feel like myself, which as a first time parent is a feeling that comes and goes. It’s so sweet to have those anchors of points in time of things we’ve created, and there is really no way to put it out into the world that feels like it does it justice.

The whole thing is about 20 minutes, so if you have 20 minutes today or this weekend or next week, put on your nice headphones and give it a digital spin. The vinyl is in the mail and you can order that too 🌀. And for the love of all things, please listen for pleasure and joy, not for the algorithm.

And find a time to find yourself in a scene like the one @seeshatakagishi painted for the album cover.

Gosh, where do I even begin..

If I could go back in time and tell 10 year old Ari that she would be spending an entire weekend recording her original music, in a cozy studio surrounded by Redwoods, with two insanely talented humans, all while supported by family and friends offering endless love and nourishment.. Well, I think she would simply implode with joy. Which has been the same energy buzzing through my bones these past three days.

This weekend has been an unforgettable experience filled with deep wisdom, unfiltered truth, vulnerability, camaraderie, bravery, humbled learning, collaboration, and pure creative magic. Not to mention kickass rice krispie treats and peanut butter congas.. iykyk ;)

It has been an incredible honor sharing this time with the wildly inspiring and incomparable @scottelliottferreter and @earthtonesaudio - A true musical power duo in addition to the greatest producer and sound engineer a girl could ask for. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart, I am so damn proud of what we’ve accomplished thus far and can’t wait to keep this party going!

More behind the scenes studio content coming soon… 🤘🏼🎶✨

NEW MUSIC! Felt is out. The first release of my new project, Sheepish King. It’s taken a long time. Many musical collaborations, many of other people’s projects I’ve had the honor of playing with. So much writing, loving, growing, and learning have gone into the formation of sheepish king. Challenging myself to capture the precious moment, not some idea of objective perfection. A tangible shift in writing from pained and perpetual searching to celebration of love and all the fear and joy it holds.

My favorite part by far of this EP was the connections it allowed me to form with new musical partners and trusted old ones. To my new friends, @itinerant_home , Ben Klausner, and Michael Scott. And to my old tried and true @__mayaelise__ , @mgilvryallen , @earthtonesaudio . So much gratitude.

The first show played as a band performing these songs brought my son into the world. I truly believe this music and the people who have helped me bring it to life have magic in them. Hope you feel it. #oaklandmusic #bayareamusic #tenderstembroccoli #indierock #indiesoul

We finished tracking our EP :).

Been thinking about what it means to be creating (music, art, new human etc.) in these wildly dark and devastating times and it’s a messy one for sure but also very obvious to not stop doing that.

Thanks to @adin_olam for making space for all of that and for directing me towards Curtis Tyrone Jones’ words: “Keep planting new seeds until your mind becomes the Earth that gives birth to new worlds”.

‘What We Found in the Seams’ is out now on streaming platforms. We hope you enjoy, we’re so happy to have this album finally out in the world. We couldn’t have done it without so many amazing humans, those who were both directly apart of the creative process and those who indirectly supported us in creating this body of work, thank you 🩵 Bad Camper has experienced many different iterations as a group over the years, and we’ve all grown and transformed into different versions of ourselves along the way. It’s truly been a journey and we feel like we’re just getting started. Cheers to reflecting on how far we’ve come, new chapters, to deaths and rebirths, ebbing and flowing in and out of the chrysalis of creativity— all things that have been in our minds and hearts lately. Thank you for being witness to our art and storytelling 🙏🏼💛 We’re feeling so much gratitude for all of you!

We chose to feature this song as our first single in a while not because it's the hottest on the upcoming album or because it will get the most views from the algorithm but because it's an authentic representation of the river we are currently traversing as musicians, songwriters and humans. WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE'RE DOING. We all pretend sometimes like we do, but no one knows. Especially in these uncertain times. Death and suffering have become more commonplace at each turn of the river. Cancer has taken more loved ones of recent than we can keep track of. War and discrimination are the fuel that pollutes our waterway of life. Our collective decisions have collective impacts and both are so complex that we can't predict the outcomes. But we can fight. When we hear the call from deep within, the call to resist, we can answer.
