POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nine years, one club, player to coach, to technical director. Now @lomas187 is stepping out on his own.

@eastern.lions have appointed the long-time Boroondara Eagles figure as their new head coach for 2027.

It’s a significant move for a coach whose Australian football journey has been almost entirely intertwined with one club.
Lomas arrived at Boroondara in 2017.

He played there, he coached there, he eventually became the men’s first-team coach and club technical director.

Along the way, he continued building his coaching credentials and is currently an ‘A’ Diploma candidate. After nine years inside the Eagles system, a new challenge awaits.

Eastern Lions endured plenty of change in the dugout during 2026, but they’ve turned to an emerging coach with deep roots in Victorian football to lead them into a new season.

2026 SEASON — THAT’S A WRAP. 🦁🇦🇺

Football brought me to Australia, but it was the people around me who made this place feel like home.

This season was more than just football.
It was the people, the friendships, the memories and the moments that I’ll carry with me forever.

Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for welcoming me.
Thank you for making this season so special.

Once a Lion, always a Lion. 🦁❤️

Forever grateful.
Forever a part of the Lions Family.
