POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This week marks 39 years since ROBOCOP shot onto the big screen and 10 (TEN!!) years since we began production on our doc series ROBODOC, which details the making of the sci-fi masterpiece, with help from 60+ of the film’s cast & crew.

Here’s two grown men waxing lyrical about our first memories of ROBOCOP, getting hooked on the iconic cyborg, and how the doc series came to be.

Happy Saturday! 👋🏻

I’ve been running this account for over eight and a half years now, and we’re closing in on 5,000 posts. That’s a LOT of solos, and a lot of scrolling back, so I’ve started digging deep to rediscover some hidden gems that time (or just Instagram!) forgot.

Into the archives we go…

Enjoy!

Repost from 21st September 2020!

Gamers, this one is for you! Did you know that John featured on the Halo 2 soundtrack? No? Don’t worry, that was intentional! 😂

Thanks to @easty7 for this brilliant clip, and to everyone who sent me the YouTube links over the past couple of months. I wasn’t quite sure how to present it but @easty7 came to the rescue. I love this edit. Thank you! 🙏🏼

The voice you hear in the video is Marty O’Donnell, the game’s composer, explaining how it came to be 😊

So I've just been informed that there's a recent video floating on YouTube of Mr @edgarwright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The Sparks Bros doc and most recently The Running Man) name dropping our RoboDoc and to hear that preceded by "Really good documentary" you can't help but feel a little giddy.

RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop (2023) is 298 minutes of pure, mind-blowing insight into the making of Robocop (1987)! This documentary is packed with fascinating trivia and behind-the-scenes details—even as a longtime fan, I learned so much I never knew about the film’s creation. What truly sets RoboDoc apart is its honesty. It doesn’t gloss over the tensions and creative clashes behind the scenes, offering a raw and compelling look at the filmmaking process. The interviews are top-notch, featuring not just the major players but also actors with the most minor roles—everyone gets a voice. From designing the iconic costume and crafting the film’s powerful score, to the explosive visual effects, poster art, and the search for the perfect lead, it’s all here. And as a cherry on top, you can feel the passion and reverence from the documentary’s directors—it oozes off the screen. Whether you’re a die-hard Robocop fan or just a movie buff, this is an absolute must-watch.
