Most documentaries aren’t shot with a cinema camera. We intentionally went the other direction. We filmed six days on an ARRI Alexa Mini with subtle anamorphic lenses (Viltrox) because Max didn't want this to feel like another YouTube upload—he wanted people to wonder why a documentary about jerky felt like a movie. Sometimes the camera choice is part of the storytelling.

This wasn't a documentary about jerky. It was a documentary about betting on yourself a second time. Early in pre-production, we realized the product wasn't the story. The story was @maxthemeatguy trying to launch a business after his first attempt didn't work—all while racing against shipping deadlines and thousands of pre-orders. That's the kind of tension people actually connect with. Every brand has a story. The challenge is figuring out which one people care about.
