For most of my life in one way or another success was the prize. Then one day, almost like an epiphany, the lightbulb came on.

I’ve succeeded at most things I pursued. But at what cost? What have I missed of greater value than I gained?

Be honest with yourself, have you ever felt this way?

Join me in The Permission Room, Thursday, June 25, at 6:30 pm ET for 90 minutes and put down what’s heavy.

Why do I feel like a fraud despite my success?

That’s not a flaw in you. That’s perfectionism doing exactly what perfectionism does. The truth? You were enough before a single accolade. We start there.

We've participated in #CLLCTIVGIVE 3 years and raised over $125,000 👏🏽 🙌🏽 ❤️

@cllctivly and this day are CRITICAL to our funding because they have provided the most support to our organization! CLLCTIVLY makes us feel heard and seen. Most importantly, the financial support that CLLCTIVGIVE provides helps us host our annual retreat and provide an all expense paid getaway to over 70 Black daughter caregivers so they can get a break from their caregiving duties.

There are many other things that your donations help us provide, so on 08.08, WE NEED YOU TO DONATE ‼️ 🤑

On 08.08 DONATE ✨️

I joined @thebinticircle because I needed community and support as a caregiver. It was a blessing to finally find my tribe and I loved that it was specifically for Black daughter caregivers. In addition to community, I found opportunity 🙌🏽

I became the social media manager for a phenomenal organization. This week, I had the opportunity to step on the other side of the camera and participate in MEDIA DAY with @cllctivly as we gear up for #CLLCTIVGIVE, a 24-hour fundraising event for black led organizations.

WE NEED YOU GUYS TO DONATE so that The Binti Circle can continue to provide all expense paid retreats, scholarships to cover care costs, outings that provide stress relief, and research specifically highlighting Black daughter caregivers.

So on 0️⃣8️⃣.0️⃣8️⃣ DONATE‼️

Special thanks goes to our Bosisi, @ebigaggie for representing The Binti Circle. Here's what she had to say about her experience:

"Advocacy Day at the Capitol is always a rewarding experience. My meetings were with Senator Shelly Hettleman’s intern (she was on the floor/voting) and Delegate Cheryl Pasteur and her intern and assistant."

This was one of those brighter moments. As a caregiver, there are good days and not-so-good days. Regardless, I'm grateful for each day we have together, and I will have memories for a lifetime, mostly treasuring those before this season. My support system is family, friends, and @thebinticircle. #caregiving #blessed #onlyonelife

Welcome to the “The Binti Circle”, a fiscally sponsored support group for black daughters caring for their mothers. Binti means daughter in Swahili, and “Circle” symbolizes unity, commitment, love and community.

We come from a long line of women who have survived with their dignity and humanity intact with courage and resilience.

We share our pain points, trials and tribulations in a no judgment zone. We welcome you from across the miles. Take a look at the retreat we just attended courtesy of the Founder Dawnita Brown and her team. More pictures will be shared as we celebrate National Family Caregiver’s Month.
