Some moments stay with you forever. 🖤 The first European screening of THE BE-TROIT EXPERIENCE was one of those moments. The only thing that comes close was our first U.S. screening in Detroit just a few weeks ago. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to see this film on the big screen with all the incredible people who made it possible right there in the room. The energy. The love. The emotions. The connection. To the entire Be-Troit crew: THANK YOU. For your energy, your trust, and for allowing me to tell your stories. It means more than you know. We’ll be submitting the film to a few festivals, and inshallah, some will select it. But whatever happens next, nothing will ever come close to experiencing these screenings together with the people whose stories are at the heart of this film. And the journey continues… 🔥 TONIGHT — THE BE-TROIT EXPERIENCE LIVE AT OHM! 🔥 📍 OHM (Tresor), Berlin 🚪 Doors: 21:00 🎤 LIVE SHOW: 22:30–00:00 🎧 DJs taking over after midnight until 05:00 One more night to experience these incredible artists together on stage. DETROIT × BERLIN. REAL PEOPLE. REAL STORIES. REAL CONNECTIONS. Much love to everyone who’s been part of this journey. 🖤 #Detroit #berlin🇩🇪 #photography #hiphop #liveshow

What a humbling feeling it is to bring a film you made about a city back to that city, not knowing if the people who call it home will actually feel it. Last night, that’s exactly what happened… and I’m still over the moon. Thank you to everyone who came out to show love, perform, hang, and make it such a special night. It was one of the most amazing evenings I’ve had in a long time, and one I won’t forget. After years of work, long nights, and countless moments of wondering if it would all come together, sharing The Be-Troit Experience in Detroit felt incredibly special. Next month, the Be-Troit project and the film are coming home to Berlin. More information on that very soon.

It’s been an amazing ride — the project, the people, the talent, the stories, these cities… And it’s been a challenge trying to cram all of that into 77 minutes. I tried. And now “The Be-Troit Experience” comes to Detroit to be screened in front of an audience for the very first time. I have to admit, I’m more than a little nervous. A lot of long, sometimes lonely nights went into making this film, and now it’s time to open it up — and, by extension, open yourself up too. For me, this is the best thing I’ve ever created, and I’m definitely feeling this moment deeply. So if you happen to be in the D next week, please come out, celebrate, watch the film and hang with us. THE BE-TROIT EXPERIENCE — DETROIT PREMIERE Berlin × Detroit. Two cities. Two communities. One shared language. The BE-TROIT Experience is a documentary about music, art, exchange, friendship and the connection between two cities — told through the young artists who came together to create, learn and build across borders. But it’s also a love letter to Detroit — its history, its resilience and its extraordinary musical legacy. From the influence of J Dilla to conversations and appearances by Detroit icons Guilty Simpson and Davina, the film explores the city and the culture that continues to inspire generations far beyond Detroit. And now we’re bringing the film back to where so much of the story happened. 📍 Hunt Street Station — 220 Hunt Street, Detroit 📅 Wednesday, September 9 6:00 PM — Doors 6:30 PM — Documentary Screening 8:00 PM — BE-TROIT Live Showcase 10:00 PM — Community Mixer Come watch the film, hear the music, meet the artists and celebrate with us.
