The constant trend towards risk aversion is what degrades your tactics and results in a paradox of making them less safe.

I have personally witnessed decisions made "for the sake of safety" fail, reaching up to the person making the decision of picking "the safest way" getting WIA.

So this is a very close and personal topic for me. Stop overthinking, be daring.

Love doing MilSim West events at @battlespringsranch because we get to blast some “real steel” before/afterwards

I brought my @meridian_defense AK-01 to run blanks during the event, then I used the same rifle to shoot with the other cadre at the range facilities, once all the participants left on Sunday.

Here’s some behind the scenes footage of me and some of the other @milsimwest staff doing a little rife competition after Jump to Salsk.

Side Note: I’m going to try and implement blank usage as part of my rifle reviews moving forward. Glad to see this ran @atlanticwallblanks m200 5.56 blanks flawlessly.

Over whites purchase = validated. Thank you winter storm, very cool.

As a former desert rat, playing in the snow is an interesting change of pace. Lots of winter camo discourse going on, but I wanted to keep it simple. You don’t need full MultiCam Alpine chest rigs, scrim and ghillies. While it looks cool, it’s mostly marketing slop. Camouflage is just breaking up the human form. A simple combo of over white bottoms, a camo insulated jacket and plate carrier and a MultiCam scrim on my helmet did plenty to disrupt my shape in light brush. If I bothered to add cam cream to my face and been obscured by more than a handful of twigs, I’d be plenty hidden at even short ranges. White tape and a ripped up white shirt would have helped even further for DIY camo if I wanted to go that route. Don’t overthink or overspend on this stuff, especially if you don’t live in Alaska or Finland.

This little exercise was just an excuse to play in the snow and get cool pics with the homie @philmxengland behind the camera and editing. More shots to come.
