🌿 In this second part, you can see what we felt in our Edgewood Community Farm - my sacred, safe space - as Jinan Deena kept teaching us how food becomes a form of resistance. Her words cut through the noise: culture isn’t something to be consumed or repackaged. It’s lived. It’s protected. It’s defended. Watching her speak while preparing Palestinian dishes made the politics unmistakable - every ingredient is a story, every technique a memory, every plate a refusal to be erased. This video shows the power of reclaiming foodways in community, on land that holds us. Thank you, Jinan, @baytibyjinan for continuing to ground us, feed us, and remind us that heritage is not up for appropriation - it’s ours to safeguard. Food is resistance. Food is belonging. Food is power. 💚 🇵🇸 💪💪 #tanninsandtruth #palestine #palestinianfood #culturalheritage #community

🌿 Yesterday at our Edgewood Community Farm - a space that is sacred to me - I witnessed Jinan Deena of Bayti do what resistance looks like in real time: cooking Palestinian food, teaching us the politics of heritage, and naming how culture is reclaimed, protected, and defended. In this garden that holds our stories, she reminded us that food is not neutral. It is history. It is land. It is identity. It is a frontline against erasure. Appropriation isn’t harmless - it’s extraction. Boycott isn’t symbolic - it’s power. And reclaiming foodways is reclaiming narrative, dignity, and belonging. Thank you, Jinan, for this - for grounding us, feeding us, and refusing to let culture be commodified or stolen. Food is heritage. Food is culture. Food is home. Food is resistance. 💚 @baytibyjinan @falasteeenifoodie @ecfarmdc @redeliciousdc #Bayti #PalestinianCuisine #CommunityFarm #foodasheritage
