OUR ROAD TO YORK GRAND PRIZE HAS FOUND A VERY GOOD HOME!

We’re delighted to finally share the handover of our Road to York Grand Prize — this absolutely stunning Eclipse trumpet— to our lucky winners, Alison March and her son Sam!

We’ve had to wait a little while for this moment, as Sam is currently serving in the Royal Marines and we needed to patiently wait for him to get some well-earned leave. But we think you’ll agree it was worth the wait.

It’s made even more special for us because Sam used to play with the band, so we’re really pleased to see this fantastic instrument going to such a good home. We hope you enjoy every note, Sam.

But this post is also a huge THANK YOU to every single person who bought a ticket in our draw.

Every ticket you bought has helped us financially on our Road to York, where we’ll be proudly representing our community at the National Finals next month. Getting a band, instruments and everything else to York is no small undertaking, and the support we’ve received from our friends, families, supporters and the wider community has been absolutely fantastic.

Whether you bought one ticket or several, you’ve played a part in helping us get there— and we really can’t thank you enough.

Now there’s just one thing left to do…

YORK, HERE WE COME

Congratulations again to Alison and Sam, and a massive thank you to everyone who continues to get behind Betteshanger Colliery Brass Band

Awesome funky grooves from @simonoslender over an original drum groove from @williebdrums
Not often I blast the trumpet over a funk groove but thought I’d open her up 🎺😀

I was inspired by @chadlbsax on his last video. Playing the blues slow is definitely more challenging!

I want to set up the 60 bpm challenge to some of my friends and musicians who I know would nail this 😀
Or, whatever you play, trumpet, sax, flute, violin…?! just have a go! 👍
Set your @irealproapp to 60BPM and play 1 chorus over a blues.

Post it and use the hashtag #60bpmchallenge
I’ll post some of my favourites 😀

I want to hear @danielnewberrymusic @alexhutchingsguitar @tonyglausi @kellinhanasmusic @barnabydickinson on this 😀
