What made her notice that shadow? Why that view? What was it like looking out over SoHo from her loft?

This Friday, you can ask Susan Martin Meggs herself.

Join us October 16 from 6 to 8 pm at the EMD Gallery during Farmville’s Art Walk for the artist reception for Interplays. Susan’s work brings light and shadow, architecture and nature into conversation. Come see what catches your attention, then hear from the person who made it.

You don’t need to be “into art” to enjoy yourself here. Bring your curiosity, someone you love, the whole family, or just yourself. We’ll have live music, refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to meet people and talk. It’s free and everyone is welcome.

Something on our walls could be just what’s missing from yours. All works are for sale, whether you’re looking for a piece for your home, your office, or a gift for someone special.

Make a little room in your Friday plans. We’ve got art to see, an artist to meet, and a good evening waiting for you.

Join Susan Martin Meggs at the EMD Gallery this Friday, October 16, from 6 to 8 pm during Farmville’s Art Walk. Her exhibition, Interplays, might have you looking twice at a shadow, remembering a place you’ve been, or picking out a piece for that empty wall at home.

No art knowledge required. If something catches your eye, that’s a great place to start.

Bring someone you love, gather the family, or come on your own. Enjoy live music and refreshments, talk with Susan about her work, and see where the conversation takes you. The reception is free and open to everyone.

All works are for sale. You could leave with a one-of-a-kind conversation starter you’ll get to enjoy every day.

You don’t have to know a thing about art to have a good time at the gallery.

Come find something you like. See what it reminds you of. Talk about it.

This Friday, October 16, from 6 to 8 pm, join us at the EMD Gallery for Susan Martin Meggs’ artist reception during Farmville’s Art Walk!

Bring a date, bring the whole family, or make it a solo adventure.

We’ll have live music, refreshments, and a chance to meet Susan and hear about her exhibition, Interplays. Stay for a conversation, meet someone new, or simply enjoy an evening out. It’s free and everyone is welcome.

Susan’s paintings, city views, and landscapes explore how light changes the places we see, and how those places connect with our own memories. You might recognize a familiar view or find yourself remembering somewhere else entirely.

And that blank wall at home or in your office? Every work on display is for sale. Come find a piece you’ll love living with and talking about.

Join us for a truly heartwarming evening at the Emily Monk Davidson Gallery as we host the opening reception for “Together, We Create.”

This duo exhibition marks the debut of local artist Elaine Hinchman and her eleven-year-old granddaughter, Annabelle. Their work captures a profound intersection of “familial legacy & artistic discovery,” proving that the time spent creating together is just as much a masterpiece as the canvases themselves.

**The Details**

Where: Farmville Community Arts Council (FCAC)
When: This Friday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The Vibe: Meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and take in live music.

What You’ll See

Elaine’s Mastery: Experience a "bold and expressive use of heavy texture" - Elaine uses a spatula and hand-crafted mediums to mirror the rugged beauty of the outdoors.
Annabelle’s Vision: Watch what happens when a young artist "let’s her imagination lead the way," using collage and stencils to create rich, evolving layers that feel "true to what she feels."

Make it a Downtown Night out!📍

The art doesn't stop at our doors. After you’ve explored the bond of "shared creativity and love” at the EMD Gallery, keep the inspiration flowing:

*Tony Craig Art Gallery: Meet the Disney illustrator and producer. Original storyboarding illustrations and hyper realistic watercolors for sale.
*Live Demos: Catch the season’s **final** glass blowing and ceramic demonstrations before they head into summer hiatus.
*Meet our town’s fiber artist, Frani Boberg in her creative space at Up The Street Fiber Arts Studio.

Come celebrate the beauty that surrounds us and the mentorship that inspires the next generation. We can’t wait to see you there!
