Join Susan Martin Meggs at the EMD Gallery this Friday, October 16, from 6 to 8 pm during Farmville’s Art Walk. Her exhibition, Interplays, might have you looking twice at a shadow, remembering a place you’ve been, or picking out a piece for that empty wall at home.

No art knowledge required. If something catches your eye, that’s a great place to start.

Bring someone you love, gather the family, or come on your own. Enjoy live music and refreshments, talk with Susan about her work, and see where the conversation takes you. The reception is free and open to everyone.

Thousands of protesters poured onto the streets of central Delhi on Monday, October 12, as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AISA president Neha Bora and several INDIA bloc leaders led a massive march towards the Supreme Court, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities. Visuals from the national capital showed enormous crowds stretching across major roads, with protesters waving national flags, carrying party banners and raising slogans against the Election Commission. The stretch between Connaught Place and Mandi House witnessed a massive gathering, with several key roads severely affected as security personnel were deployed across the area.  Organised under the banner of Chalo Delhi - March for Democracy, the demonstration brought together prominent opposition figures, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and leaders from several other political parties. The protesters accused the Election Commission of irregularities in electoral roll revisions, particularly the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and demanded accountability from its leadership. Ahead of the march, Rahul Gandhi urged citizens, irrespective of political affiliation, to join the demonstration. Addressing Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, he called for his resignation and declared that the opposition’s campaign would continue until its demands were addressed. Gandhi also described the movement as a tandav, suggesting that the protests would not end with a single demonstration.  However, the march encountered police barricades at Bhagwan Dass Road, where Delhi Police stopped protesters from proceeding further towards the Supreme Court. The opposition simultaneously pursued legal action over its allegations of electoral irregularities. The Supreme Court reportedly permitted a limited delegation to approach its filing counter. Monday’s turnout marked a significant escalation in the confrontation, with thousands taking to the streets as the political battle over India’s electoral system moved towards the country’s highest court.
