So excited to share the images of our recent project : DR Karen Doherty’s Home.

Recently featured in House & Garden Magazine and beautifully captured by Michael Sinclair

Seen here is the Living room; filled with 20th century classics, 80s rarities as well as contemporary radical designers such as Grace Prince.

Spotify Lossless

@cake.architecture listening space for Spotify with bespoke system custom built by @friendly.pressure

We worked closely with @_bourdeau to design the space for optimal acoustics. Each wall in the main Listening Lounge space has been acoustically tuned through a calibrated surface pattern that disperses frequencies and prevents reverberation pooling at the corners. Across the rear wall we used 60 panels of @plasticiet Karlite, supplied by @surfacematter , cut to a size to mimimise waste and control low frequencies. Love every detail in the space, even the ones you can’t see, from the niche in the stage for the curtains to run into, to the checkerboard acoustic insulation in the walls using @kvadrattextiles acoustic system. The hardware for the sound system sits on the maddest (& heaviest) console, milled from a solid aluminium by the legend and metal genius @eddieolin

Outside the listening room we asked @joefranc__ & @lessons.research to design a bespoke dining table, above which sits a bespoke pendant light by @ninetyoneninetytwo

It was such a privilege to work and learn from an amazing project team. Can’t thank @billannab enough for all the trust to allow us to bring together a team of amazing designers, and @thein.creative @kanedansie @melissahawkins for the keeping the project running smoothly from start to finish.

I hope everyone can find a way to get in here and listen to the sound system, because it’s a sonic experience like no other. A space in which every piece has been designed to contribute to the experience.
