Yelling at my friends on race day is always one of my favorite days of the year! Congrats to @_clayton_young_ and @dakotahlindwurm for both hitting PRs. The races for top American were dramatic and super fun to follow! Thanks to @edeyestone and @carrie_tollefson at @nbcsports for the shout out on the broadcast, and to @runeliteprogram for telling me about it.

Chicago, you’ve given me a lifetime of memories. ❤️

2021: A 4th-place finish.
2022: Celebrating @em_sisson_ breaking my American record in the marathon with @joanbenoitsamuelson and @deenakastor.
2023: A 5K win.
2024: Two broken bones in my foot and the heartbreak of dropping out of the marathon… followed by a huge gift: being with all my siblings to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday.
2025: Another 5K win, watching my teammate @connermantz break the American record, and kicking off my book tour with @mgcentro in a city that has given me so much.

That’s the magic of this city. It gives you moments you never forget, lessons you never expected, and a front-row seat to people doing extraordinary things.

This year, I get to experience it all from a different perspective: cheering YOU on.

I can’t wait to watch thousands of dreams unfold, finish lines get crossed, and people discover what they’re capable of.

Go get ’em, Chicago. The magic is yours this year. 🏙️❤️

The framework of the most renown track and field and cross country programs always trace back to the coaching mainstays tasked with guiding endless rosters to the single mindset of teamwork.

Ed Eyestone has understood this organizational mantra, helping transform BYU into a powerhouse that is a beacon for incoming freshman while upperclassmen leave decorated with conference titles and the essence of national championship experience.

In today’s episode, Ed spoke in a wide-ranging chat about his days as a competitor, carefully taking on the role of crafting emerging talents and the drive behind what has kept him locked in on the sidelines year after year as his legacy stretches into all corners of running.

@harrisjaquavious and I were both crying a few times during this chat, and I think this might have been the most important conversation on this podcast so far.

I’ve respected @edeyestone from afar for a long time. This episode had me respect him on a whole different level.

Please do yourself a favor and listen to episode 201 of The Marathon Podcast! 💛
