June dump as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator! ✏️ Swipe to see what I got up to this month ➡️ Pechakucha was such a fun format for talks - it was rapid fire! I love looking through the different samples and seeing what’s possible I can’t wait to share more of these incredible renders 👀 A much needed break 🐸 It’s crazy the things you stumble across, I just went in to use the toilet 🤣 Can’t wait to share the full card game soon! The type on this design was custom made using the form of wave breaks for inspiration I can’t wait to see what this one turns out like I love newspapers! NDAs will be the death of me as a graphic designer…

It’s #mysterymonday🎲 (created by @justthreemeeple & hosted by @obsessedwithboardgames) where we’re asked to choose a mystery board game to match weekly themes. The theme this week is “Habitats” (chosen by @boardgamingwithlandl) and is also in collaboration with #springintoboardgames (hosted by @bordercityboardgamer) This was the most Spring themed habitats I could find, and I think it might be a little bit of an easier guess this week! 😅 The theme last week was “Robots” and the game I chose was Moon Colony: Bloodbath by @riograndegames The person who guessed it right first was @edgeoftheboard If you can guess it right first, you’ll be tagged in next week’s post, so let me know discretely in the comments if you know what game this is!

✍️ #peoplebehindthemeeple is a community hashtag I’m hosting on my page every Sunday where creators tell the story of their board game journey. Featured this week is Tom from @edgeoftheboard ! So let’s hear his story, take it away Tom! First off, I wanted to say a massive thanks to Rob for having me be part of ‘People behind the Meeple’. He was one of the first creators I contacted on here when I began my Instagram and has been nothing but genuine and supportive of others in this community. Unlike some, I wasn’t a huge board game player growing up. In fact, my early memories were mostly of getting frustrated at my inability to win at Monopoly and being born in the early 1990s I was unable to answer the exact date that Steve Davis won his last Snooker World Championship (it was 1989 in case you were likewise concerned) in Trivial Pursuit. It was safe to say that my early memories of board games were not that fond. However, my parents loved card games and we did play these often on rainy camping trips and at the odd wasp-infested picnic table at motorway service stations on the long commute from the far north where we lived to literally anywhere else. It was my teenage years when I had my first board game experience that hooked me in. I have this theory that people who love board games have a ‘spark’ game; a game that captivates them and opens their eyes to the amazing variety of games that exist. I would love to say that the game that did this for me was something niche and unexpected, however, in a very real cliche it was Catan. I adored that game. My friends and I played it relentlessly, including a yearly Christmas game when we all returned from university. I would like to say those competitions were even but, alas, you are looking at the reigning three year champion (though we haven’t played since 2015 so who knows if I would keep my crown now). However, Catan’s scoring possibilities and tactics, including expansions, opened my eyes to the fun that board gaming could be. Continued in comments…

It’s Day 16 of @getintogames #boardtober2025 and FINALLY Final Girl from @vanrydergames makes its entrance as the theme chosen by @edgeoftheboard is ‘DREAD’ ! 🫣 🩸Let’s be honest, there are many things in Final Girl that can cause you dread! The first event card, the flip of a terror card, that first important dice roll and the horror track increasing and taking your dice away 😰. 🔪 For me it’s the killer’s bloodlust! A game can feel within your grasp only to see it taken away as that little blood marker moves up towards the dark power card and you know it’s about to get worse for you! What’s your Final Girl dread trigger?! Tomorrow’s theme is ‘chills’. #horror #fridaythe13th #horrorgenre #horrorgame #hans #finalgirl #dice #halloween #strategygame #boardgames #ttrpg #horrorcommunity #boardgameaddict #solo #sologaming
