KAPITAAL EXPO/CAFÉ

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25th, 18:00 - 21:00
Start early and relax, check out new art, have a drink and hang out with the cool kids.

ARTIST:
Eduardo Lucio de Esesarte @edutuario is a Utrecht based Mexican writer, creating absurd but intelligent little stories accompanied by squiggly often creepy handdrawn illustrations.

EXPO:
El Cubo Gástrico
A risographed two piece zine and corresponding performance about a hotel with an infinite number of rooms, narrated by an infinite number of guests sharing their infinite number of perspectives.
The risographed and screenprinted zine is a nerdy ode to Latin-American magic-realism, looping and confusing reality into experimental stories paired with nervous visual masterpieces.

MUSIC:
The weird combination of modular synths, live drums and trumpet of @blackwidowtheband brings you trippy but strangly energizing film noir vibes.
DJ Bentito @bent.this will show his love for Mexican pop, norteña and weird cumbias.

Want to slow down, get creative, and meet new people? Join this cozy glass painting workshop at Cafca.

We’ll paint together in a warm, light-filled space with calming music, all materials provided, and plenty of room to experiment. I’ll have glass pieces to paint on, but feel free to bring your own glasses, jar, or picture frame to transform.

The workshop is just €25 to keep it accessible thanks to Cafca supporting local artists. Drinks aren’t included, but the café barista will be there with something delicious if you’d like.

Hosted by me, Sandra Martin - no pressure, no perfectionism, just creativity and connection.

Oudegracht 302, 3511 NX Utrecht
Check out the webshop in bio to tickets!

My artworks are memory keepers- they allow me to enter back into the place I was sitting when I made them and how I felt as I created the piece.

This one for me is an ode to feeling at home in spaces and with people. Living in the Netherlands can be quite challenging in especially one regard: housing. It’s come to the point where sometimes even when someone has only found a temporary place to live it’s worth celebrating. The event surrounding this sketch is a reflection of that.

I wanted to share the life world behind this Aquarelle and the sunny day that inspired it as well as the places that allowed for its creation. Third spaces are such important cornerstones of city life - not work not home - some place else you feel comfortable. @cafcaclub is able to supply this as always, these days run by our barista @redaelfathitb. #creativelife #utrechtartist #aquarellepainting #inspiration #utrechthotspot

Day 1 of our zine-making workshop with @edutuario was a good time all around. The afternoon was spent with exchanging ideas, creating, and letting our creativity flow. At the end of the day, we were finishing up our books that were ready to be printed and bound for the 2nd session of our workshop. Thank you for everyone who participated! ✂️🌸💘
