Edward Rittenberg @edwardrittenberg is a Nashville-based artist known for vibrant impasto (textured) paintings defined by rich texture, movement, and color. Represented by some of the nation’s top galleries, his work is collected throughout the United States. Using palette knives and heavy-body acrylics, Edward creates expressive floral abstract-impressionist paintings that invite viewers to engage with the surface and experience the work up close. Inspired by nature and everyday moments, his goal is simple: to create art that brings joy, sparks curiosity, and makes people smile—even if just for an instant.

Edward Rittenberg’s use of heavy-body acrylics as his chosen medium for crafting impasto paintings allows the flowers he paints to seemingly leap off the canvas. His uniquely low-relief-like paintings harmonize energetic acrylic hues with graceful floral shapes. Rittenberg’s captivating Lavender Oasis awaits you at our Houston gallery location, so come in person or visit our website (link in bio) for more information about Edward Rittenberg and his artwork.

Edward Rittenberg specializes in floral pieces, driven by his desire to bring the vibrant colors and organic forms found in nature into indoor spaces. His unique heavy impasto style develops into a low-relief sculptural work. This gives his paintings physical and emotional depth as Rittenberg infuses his flora with his love of life, joy, and radiance. Our Houston gallery has recently acquired this piece, Peach and Raspberry Delight, and we welcome you to come see it in person! To learn more about Rittenberg’s practice please visit our website (link in bio).
