Why are we like this?!

I’ve seen the good & I’ve soaked it in.

But western society has brainwashed us to always look for the bad. Always be on guard for the next thing. To be in fight or flight just in case shit hits the fan.

So when something is good, we question it.

Why aren’t we feeling anxious? Am I allowed to have it be good? Is this what GOOD feels like?

This is difficult to work through. But, life can be good and you’re allowed to feel it.

It’s okay to step back. It’s okay to let go of the wheel for a bit. You don’t have to be on guard all the time.

The more you think something bad is going to happen, the more likely it is that it WILL happen.

You’re in control of your mind.

Just let it be good. 🤍

@eemilydunn you were said friend & I’ve been repeating this to myself ever since. 🫶🏻

Sure… you can design your space yourself.
Just like you can hitchhike.

But if you want it done right;
cohesive, scaled properly, sourced well, and actually worth the investment,
that’s where I come in.

Don’t make costly mistakes that will alter your life. Making choices that might ruin the integrity of your home, spending money you don’t have just to be unhappy with the result.

Be safe. Defer to the experts. Don’t get in the car.

Design isn’t just picking pretty things. It’s making everything work together.

DM me “DESIGN” if you’re ready to skip the guesswork.

I don’t feel comfortable talking to a camera.

In person I can’t seem to stop talking!

But I know what the social media algorithms are looking for, what my target audience is and how the world is evolving. Therefore, it’s time to get out of my comfort zone.

But isn’t that what life is all about? Growth is in the uncomfortable. Stagnancy is complacency. And nothing good ever came from standing still.

In the last year I’m grown more than I thought possible, especially in such a short amount of time.
But I’ve learned, if I want to grow my buisness, grow as a person and learn along the way, I have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

I post and preach about being comfortable in your space, and being able to look around and see yourself reflected in your interior.

And I understand, taking on a renovation, picking new fabric, furniture, flooring, wall colours, is all uncomfortable, daunting and overwhelming.

That is something I am not afraid of. Helping you make decisions. Directing you towards the right choices, the first time. Saving clients from making costly mistakes that end up extending the project, or stagnating it.

Don’t be scared of doing the thing!

Let us help you make it an enjoyable process, so we can learn and grow together!

Happiness is just on the other side.

January and February of 2026.

New year, new opportunities and new possibilities!

January I went to Dominican with my Nana and Chris.
February I went to New York for the first time to visit my best friend.
We went ice drifting.

I went to IDS for the first time. I did a collage night with @vicostonecanada and @savvyartmarket
Went to a brunch and learn at @riccocabinetry , all with the lovely @designsbyrachaelgilroy

I started new professional organizing projects.

Life doesn’t stop. So it’s important to make time for the things and the people that are importantly to you. We work to live, not the other way around.

I started to learn more about social media marketing. I’m working on some new networking opportunities. My mind is racing with potential and ideas I’m so excited to work on implementing.

I’m still learning. I’ll never stop. But I love what I do, and most importantly, I love how it makes people feel.

I aim to make the design project “your partner in design” for homeowners, builders and other designers. I want to be an asset that helps you fill the gaps you are struggling with.

Whether that be renovations, plans, renderings, furniture procurement, organizing or an outlet to express frustration. We do it all!

It’s not that simple….. because undertones exist.
Because lighting changing everything.
Because performance matters.
Because scale matters.
Because “Beige”‘is never just beige.

This is what goes into “just pick in fabric”

Perfectionism 🤝 Interior Design

“If it’s not perfect on the first try…”

Meanwhile, behind the scenes:
– 17 fabric samples
– 4 furniture layouts
– 3 lighting swaps
– 1 mild identity crisis

Design isn’t magic. It’s iteration.
It’s editing.
It’s refining.
It’s seeing it installed and realizing the scale needs adjusting.

Nothing great is perfect on the first try — especially not spaces that are meant to be lived in.

Good design isn’t about getting it perfect immediately.
It’s about getting it right intentionally.

Not just “picking pretty things.”

Every fabric, finish, and rug is selected with intention — scale, durability, undertone, budget, lead time, and how it all layers together.

Design is creative.
Procurement is strategic.

This is where both happen.

It doesn’t always look glamorous, sometimes it can look quite boring.
But is a process that we enjoy and take seriously here at The Design Project.

Making sure everything works together, and putting together a presentation package that is detailed, curated and made specifically for you.

Imagine loving every part of your home.

Coming home is exciting.

it’s a place to relax, recharge, cook, entertain, a sanctuary.

That’s what your home should be, should make you feel.

A reflection of your life, your personality, your travels.

Stop wondering “what if”. Stop putting off your happiness.

When you love your home, statistically, you’re happier, healthier, more social, motivated, and productive.

Elevate your life and your potential, by improving your space.

Spent family day with the crew and had a blast, as usual! Most of the day was shot on mobile but was able to take a few snaps of most of the crew driving. Zoom in to see each driver lol
