What a night for @townofcollierville !! Last night, the @colliervilleartscouncil hosted their annual Arts in the Alley, and it was a HIT! From local art and handmade jewelry to candles, live music, food, drinks, and so much more, it was such a fun night seeing our community come together and support local creatives. The Collierville Arts Council is one of the incredible nonprofits we’re proud to support through funds raised by the Collierville Contemporary Club. Seeing one of our supporting nonprofits in action — and watching our community show up to support them — is such a sweet reminder of why we do what we do. We loved getting to be a small part of such a special night in Collierville! 📷: @kaylarandlesphotography

1.Create what you really, *actually* want to create-- not just what you think will be marketable. This encompasses your art, but also your marketing content. Post the niche' things. Make dumb jokes. Give your hot takes. Only you see the world like you do, and the people that resonate will stick around . 2. Lead with collaboration over competition. Assume that everyone wants to be your friend (even though they probably don't 🤪). This confidence gives you the boost to pursue connection in a genuine and generous way with your artist and small business counterparts, as well as your customers. Cheer everyone on, share your resources and suppliers. No one else's success threatens your own. 3. Not Everything Can Be The *Main Thing*. Stick to what causes you are passionate about. There will be wave after wave of things to donate to, injustices to bring awareness to, and many social pressures to align with them all. Your business cannot be the platform for everything, so choose the thing you care most about and run after that impact. 4. Everyone is Welcome, All of the Time. Enthusiastically welcome everyone, and invite everyone into your process and product. There is nothing more rewarding than people feeling truly at home and a part of your brand with you. 5. Create Out of Abundance, not Capitalism. Creativity doesn't come from an empty cup. Seek experiences, relationships, and inspiration outside of your creative work. Emily Jones and I are releasing a collaborative pottery collection this Saturday, September 12th! It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how Emily has taken the blank canvas of my bisque fired pieces and turned them into this whimsical, earthy collection. To see my pieces that feel very much my own with decoration that came from the creative ideas of someone else’s mind is exciting! Emily and I have always worked well together and this project was a fun departure from my usual work. Come check it out this weekend at The Slowdown Shop from 12-4pm in the Edge District!

Want to spend every weekend together?? I have been busy making lots of pottery for y’all including a really fun collab with @eeoj_art that we are releasing next weekend!
