There are two kinds of brunch people in New York: the ones who set Resy alerts three weeks out & the ones who wake up at 10:47 a.m. on Saturday & decide they need eggs somewhere cute.

If you fall in the second category, you’re in the right place. Contrary to popular belief, you can actually get brunch in this city without knowing you’ll be in the mood to dress up for pancakes a month in advance.

Some of these spots still require a quick mid-week res lock, while others you can stroll into slightly disheveled & be seated before your cold brew kicks in.

Rest assured, all of them deliver what a proper New York brunch should – good energy, comforting plates, a room that feels alive & the kind of setting where you can spill the tea about last night’s debauchery without feeling rushed out the door.

It’s about making the ordinary, extraordinary 😌✨ Beginning this short but sweet trip to Fukuoka grounded in balance, quiet rituals, and simple, yet meaningful beauty — the way I always hope to move through life.

Blissful NYC days of early May

It’s been a while since a meal truly blew me away, but @husonyc did just that.

Tucked behind Marky’s Caviar in Tribeca, the 12-course tasting menu from Top Chef winner Buddha Lo strikes a rare balance: whimsical, refined, and unpretentious. Each dish was artful and deeply flavorful—standouts included king salmon with crème crue and Osetra caviar, bluefin tuna with blood orange and watermelon radish, and an Oishii strawberry dessert that felt both nostalgic and elevated.

The space is quietly luxurious, layered with personal touches—curated books, Keith Haring artwork, porcelain installations—all reflective of Lo’s story. Service was polished, kind, and perfectly paced. A dinner to remember.

Pausing to take it all in 🖤

A delightful dinner at @joomak_newyork—a new chapter for Chef Jiho Kim, whose former concept Joomak Banjum earned a Michelin star and a loyal following for its playful, genre-blurring approach to Korean-inflected fine dining. Now nestled within Maison Hudson, this 27-seat jewel—designed by @thomasjuulhansen—feels like a more intimate, polished evolution: an exploration of Jiho’s personal history and pastry-driven precision, expressed through an eight-course tasting menu that’s equal parts thoughtful and whimsical.

There’s a clear throughline of nostalgia and storytelling, from clever riffs on NYC street food to deeply comforting Korean flavors reimagined with French technique. Every course arrives with intention and a sense of fun, without ever sacrificing refinement. With a robust, French-forward wine program and a menu that includes a full vegetarian tasting, Joomak feels like a confident reinvention—one that invites you into Jiho’s world with warmth, wit, and a remarkable sense of craft.
