Trois jours intenses ! Merci à @association_abcdair_noizay pour organiser ce salon avec autant d’enthousiasme et de gentillesse, merci aussi à toutes les clientes qui ont se sont déplacées malgré la température 🌞 , et un merci tout particulier à @eiderferreiro et à @unchiffonfonfon , venues de bien loin, heureuse d’avoir ainsi pu mettre un visage derrière un compte et échanger avec beaucoup de joie ! Ce beau salon est fini 😢, désolée je n’ai pas posté pendant ! J’ai profité du moment présent, peut être aussi un peu au ralenti avec cette chaleur! I always find it such a joy to find a kindred stitching soul and since moving location I’ve been fortunate enough to be included in a wonderful and talented group of stitchers who have not only provided support but also a wealth of inspiration! I’m delighted and honoured to be working on a new set of Summer themed designs with Deborah @theneedleworkersbarn and the new Tomato Thieves Needlecase kit is now available to order here so please just send me a direct message if you would like one . There are more designs coming in this series which we are both very excited about so please keep an eye out for more posts soon !
The needlecase cover is hand drawn on vintage French Metis linen and the kit includes thread, needle, photo, Tilda lining fabric, felt pages and full instructions.

Look what’s arrived today at my home ♥️♥️♥️
I’m thrilled that this little doll quilt, made by Eider @eiderferreiro, is for me, just can’t believe it!
It’s a true master piece, thank you só much Eider for all the love and effort you’ve put in this quilt, I’m só happy with it ❤️.

I haven’t shared these #MauleFamilyQuilt blocks for a couple of months… these are blocks 37, 38, 39, 40. The heaviness in the world right now makes sharing things like this seem trivial, but if you’ve ever done hand-stitching, I think you’ll agree that having hand-work projects really helps soothe the soul. 💕 Sending blessings out to all my friends. After 3 years I finished my version of the #aliasgracequilt.
It all started in August 2020 as a quilt-a-long with 15 other quilters from all over the world! 🌎

I started this project when I was in the middle of a ‘Life changing period of my life that felt like I was in the middle of a hurricane’…. Sewing blocks every month gave me a focus point! Not only did we sewed the blocks every month, each month, one of the quilters received a block of their choice from everyone. I chose ‘Broken Dishes’ (month 5) because it was so appropriate at the time… I put all received blocks around a panel. The 3 blocks of the group leaders and my own Broken Dish block are placed in the corners. In each block I embroidered the initials of the maker, as a little reminder of their contribution of this quilt full of memories. I added all of their names in a second label which is sewed on the back. In addition to the Alias Grace blocks, the monthly alternative block patterns, several extra blocks were added. Just until I had enough for a square quilt top. The total amount of blocks is 60…..
The quilt-a-long took 16 months.(until November 2021) And the top was finished in June 2022. The start of the quilting took a little longer. I started doing that in June 2023.
Because it has become a busy quilt, I chose a Quilt Facing instead of a binding.
I love the end result❣️

My @aliasgraceremembered quilt top is finished!😃Started August 2020, an international quilt adventure with 16 members from The Netherlands, Spain, GB, USA, Canada and Australia. We’ve been making and sending blocks every month since, with one last one to go. At first I regretted choosing scrappy blocks, but with the addition of the central star, I love how my bow ties worked out. I’m almost finished piecing the backing, and hope to start quilting before the weather gets too warm. #aliasgraceremembered #bowtiequilt #handpiecing #reproductionquilt
