Jule Wild / Find me near the chestnut trees
2021年に出版された前作『it was snowing outside (and it took her two days to notice)』では、ウクライナでの出会いや体験をドキュメンタリー写真によって綴り、詩的な表現へと昇華させていた。

Schulte Muss Leben - My Kickstarter for my book is now live! Link in bio.

I’m really happy to finally share my Kickstarter with you today. You can find the link in my bio.

I made a book together with @eigensinnpublishing , and I’m very happy to finally share it.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen, and to everyone who has spent this time with me and still does. We need 7000 Euros..

On the Kickstarter page, you can find all the information about the project:

With the money we collected from selling beer, we rented a Miles and drove to the hardware store to buy a few hundred euros’ worth of concrete. We got debris from everywhere; Chris’s mother still had some in her garden. The rest consists of beer cans and trash.
We build these places even though it is clear that they will be torn down again. This city is not for the people who live in it, but for profit and a polished image. So what is really left, if not taking back the city you live in?
We do it with concrete, in places where rats live and there is enough trash to fill ramps. Places that have somehow been forgotten, creating space for something to emerge from the dirt.

Since 2023, I have been photographing my friends building these ramps.

The video is made from collected footage, and the song is by the band Abstand.

Finally got around to making a flip through video of the final and published version of "Find me near the chestnut trees". I have been working on this chunky little brick of a book for over three years, trying to capture my Ukrainian friends new reality and the new "normality" they had to reclaim. 236 pages with photos and personal texts/diary entries by my wonderful protagonists <3

It is available on my website if you are interested

Massive thank you once again to all the people that supported the crowdfunding to make this possible and everybody who has already ordered a book <3

Women, Immigrants, and Guest Workers (short-term contract workers). A photo book illuminating the past of a mother, categorized through keywords. Through delving into her past life, the work explores self-discovery and identity, while shedding light on the hardships of immigrant women’s lives, prompting societal interest in these issues.

This book marks her second publication, published by a small publishing house in Germany, showcasing many innovative attempts distinct from typical photo books. Opting for a diary-like format to effectively convey personal stories, it fearlessly incorporates staging reminiscent of post-it notes.

Turbulent times, and photos evoking uneasy emotions..

PHOTOBOOK MARKET / eigensinn Publishing @eigensinnpublishing

All we want to do is to publish photography. And not in order to be successful with it, but only to express ourselves in the most honest way, without any compromises. We also made it to our goal to do this for as less money as possible for the viewer. We strongly believe that art is made for the same kind of people as the ones who are creating it in the first place.
