What a trip this has been. I go back home tonight but spending this weekend watching magnificent artists create their work has been inspiring and eye-opening. I am really lucky in that I get access to an already amazing artist @kailunqu in my home city, but coming here to #Chicago with him has been given me access to that many more styles and techniques.

You watch these artists create and your fingers start revving to hold a paintbrush wanting to try it yourself. Of course, upon coming back to my hotel room, it doesn’t quite get executed the way I imagined it might 😂 — but learning is a process. And boy, have I learned on this trip. As a new artist, just being able to see up close what they do and how they did it… is really priceless. And so appreciated. I have to remind myself that nobody just magically got it all in six months, which is how long I’ve painted with oils.

Also, I haven’t been back to Chicago since 2010 or so, when I didn’t draw or paint a thing. Being in this city with “painter’s eyes” has exposed just what an incredible city this is. I just can’t wait to come back.

Loved spending time with @christopher_bell_art @chelsealangart @eileenliuart too. ❤️❤️❤️ (Y’all need to learn to live it up. 😂)

Laguna Day yesterday to round out the birthday weekend and celebrations. It was an amazing day to spend with friends and capture scenery in the area. Grateful for all the wishes and support from loved ones and that I’m still here on this planet able to see beautiful sites with others.

Thank you so much for participating in my first English workshop!
I can’t be more happy to see everyone’s final outcome are so different from each others yet we all utilized the thinking process talked in class. Such result is definitely one my goal for holding this workshop.
My ambition in introducing the importance of narrative and thinking process has been fulfilled;w; thank you , thank you!

WP sesh @ Pasadena City College 👌 Thanks for hosting @angothemango
And happy birthday @georgerahlmeyer
!!

Been trying to play more with color and I was kinda unsure about this one in the early/mid stages since I was laying in a really punchy orange and then trying to rein it all back in with greens, but I like how the colors are playing on the page

I'd also like to try more simplified graphic stuff sometime... Maybe I'll take a class.... Maybe........

Good job everyone 👏
