{DEEWAAR} A Display Devanagari Typeface.

It started with a conscious observation over a period of time. Devnagari has always been worked upon by the passionate need of a designer's curiosity or straight up need to be produced for a newspaper like Lokmat or hand-painted on signages. But devnagari has always been treated well but with confines.

This script has never been played with aggressively but only attributed with sophistication in calligraphy. Why not give it a personality that has never been interacted with? To be raw, chaotic and full of such street kinetic rhythm marry it with a way of expression called graffiti. This coolest grandpa has been here since before the 70s stuck rocking and being legendary.

Here comes the lovechild, DEEWAAR. A display devanagri typeface that flows out of bounds, bored of being carved onto desks, painted over shutters and sprayed over vans. It idolizes the kinds of Hanif Qureshi and Kimya Gandhi. It flows in natural movement of an artist's hand working quick, dragging snapping back and overshooting corners.

It features and dominates your space and sits around on desks, sofas, bed and walls. On CD covers, vinyls and walls. It also screams from outside your window deafning you from anti-proganda, like the mouths of Guevera or Wangchuk.
