A Pool in the Ocean. A collaborative series between @stefanieverhoef and @elabauer8

A Pool in the Ocean sounds strange, almost impossible, and yet the image is fascinating.
Imagine an endless, restless expanse of water.
Amidst it, a manmade construction appears: a pool, with a clearly defined boundary.
Within it, the water is calm and still, seemingly indifferent to the ocean surrounding it.

A Pool in an Ocean is both part of and apart from its landscape, shaped by its time and place, yet asserting its own identity and boundaries.
It is a space of stillness within movement, of distinction within continuity, an entity that belongs to its surroundings without becoming indistinguishable from them.

As part of the third collaborative project by @thepooljewelry, Ela and Stefanie created these pieces.
They are on display during @parcoursbijoux at @atelier_neerlandais

This weekend is the last weekend of our exhibition.
And today there will be a little finissage, join us!
From 15:00 - 17:00
22 Avenue Victoria

A Pool In The Ocean group exhibition

The title is a metaphor to question the infinity of making possibility and the (almost) insignificant act of making on our own, yet we gather to feel stronger. The pool floats in an infinity of water, a group of members floating in the large ocean.

Fake Twins

Marguerite Bones and Sophia Zobel come together around the Merovingian bird, a creature known in the history of the Franks, whose territories once stretched across what we now call France, Belgium and parts of Netherlands.

Two scarf pins, made by chiselling and repoussé in fine silver and handmade Shibuichi alloy, the brooches mirror each other without ever becoming the same.

These birds adorn and protect, becoming both amulet and armour.

A Pool In The Ocean group exhibition

Fragments explores intimacy, identity and collectivity through the covering of the face. The headpiece obscures the wearer’s individual features, suggesting a temporary surrender of identity to a larger collective body. Created collaboratively, the work brings together Floor’s nylon thread cubes and Gabriella’s silver structure. Floor sent the cubes from Amsterdam, trusting Gabriella to find their place within the piece. While she developed the structure in Copenhagen independently, they allowed their distinct contributions to form something shared.

We bring to a close our series of summer events by presenting the last pieces from our exhibition OPEN WORLD. Created for Objects Beautiful and originally shown in March 2026 at FRAME in The Internationale Handwerks, Munich.

Send us a direct message if you would like to be added to the guest list!

This event will take place in the context of FRIEZE London, providing the perfect backdrop, with The Office conveniently situated in the midst of Fitzrovia. To reach the exhibition, you will simply have to take a lift; here you will be greeted with a cold beverage and the chance to absorb our collection.

A refreshing break from the busy FRIEZE below.

Altogether, we collaborate with 44 different art-jewellers who use a diverse range of materials, techniques and narratives. In this exhibition, we will present an in-depth reflection on this work, some of which has never been seen in London before.

Alongside them, we’ll show work by Nurit David, the painter who creates our line of art-clothing. Both these disciplines build our Art to Wear collection in the pursuit of beauty.

Brooches form a large part of our collection. Popular objects during the Victorian Era, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, their presence quietened until the end of the 20th Century. Their popularity resurged with many art-jewellers seeking a larger canvas for expression. These days it has become a leading object within the discipline, designed and enjoyed by all genders.

We are mostly interested in contemporary worn art, open to the artist to interpret which parts of the human body they are most inspired to create for. Open World is the theme that characterises this creative world of art-jewellers we collaborate with. Often we refer back to the phrase by Frank Gehry - “I take it where it goes” - a thoughtful expression capturing that engagement with an open process where the end result is often surprising.

Objects Beautiful’s collection is determined by beauty. Beauty is our focus and what we campaign for. Currently, we collaborate with about 40 art-jewellers from different parts of the world, covering upcoming talent and established ones, all of whom create distinctively beautiful art.

The neuroscientist Semir Zeki, a world expert on the neural correlates of the experience of beauty, claims that talented artists are led by their visual brain and profound thinking. Crucially, they know how to proceed and when to stop. The moment when they realise that all has fallen into place is the moment of beauty. It is quite clear that in the arts, beauty is not a singular idea. There are numerous options to go through this evolutionary path, creating this Open World.

Colour, made effortless.

Ela Bauer’s new collection of necklaces brings together vivid resin forms and delicate silver elements in compositions that feel playful, spontaneous, and full of movement.

Light on the body and remarkably easy to wear, each necklace introduces colour without overwhelming the wearer. Worn alone, it becomes a distinctive accent; layered or combined with other pieces, it creates an entirely personal composition.

Behind their apparent simplicity lies Ela Bauer’s unmistakable sensitivity to material, balance, and form. Recently awarded the prestigious 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗳𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 at 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the artist transforms resin and silver into jewellery that is contemporary, expressive, and wonderfully approachable.

Art jewellery to live with every day: colourful, lightweight, and made to become part of the way you dress.
