@americanblackfilmfestival was truly a Homecoming! 2013, 13 years ago my mother bought my sisters and I passes to ABFF as a film school graduation gift for me. 2026, 13 years later I’ve returned for the world premiere of my short film @peacebypiecefilm

I don’t know if I could think of a better place to start this festival run than in @visitmiami surrounded by people who look, sound, and think just like me! Thank you @jefffriday and @iamnicolefriday for 30 years of ABFF and for selecting Peace by Piece to be apart of the 30th celebration.

Premiering is one thing, but to premiere surrounded by my family and loved ones is priceless. Represented @visitusvi at ABFF with @marisecjames @sydneympaul @quiet_cam @ambient_waters and @dr_donducci by my side. Huge thank you to my Mom who supported me through the toughest days of being a indie filmmaker and helping get my costar and cousin Dante out to Miami! Bonus Big shoutout to Sydney for helping Dante, and being a rock for me to lean on throughout.

With my beautiful girlfriend @crystalpwl by my side the entire time I felt like I could literally do it all! 1 year in, she came into my life 1 month before filming Peace by Piece and supported me all the way through. I love you!

If you told me 2 months ago that the incomparable @angelagibbs would fly across the country to come to the world premiere of my short film I woulda called you insane. But here we are, and there she is! The love, support, and joy she brought was irreplaceable. Thank you Angela!

BLOCK 3! I know our bonds will last forever. Starting with one Trini reaching out to another, @gclarke_x created the group chat that started us off right! @yoms brought nothing but smiles from across the pond. I can talk film techniques all day with @bouie_ . @tiffaniho11and brought that infectious energy that got the rest of us super excited. And let me tell you about @jordanbetine ! First, loved having another Jordan in the group but seriously, Jordan’s RESPECT for the craft and everyone around was so authentic. I needed more people like Block 3 in my life, so I’m so happy I met every single one of them.

#TBT to the 14th Annual 5K Run & Walk for Kids’ Growth - #Miami, Florida! 🏃‍♂️✨ This event brought our community together to raise awareness of childhood growth disorders and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

To everyone who was there running, walking, and cheering, you are the ones driving this movement forward. Every mile covered brings more hope to children and families affected by rare growth disorders. We are incredibly proud of your effort and support, we truly couldn’t have done it without you!

We want to highlight and extend our deepest gratitude to our leadership and partners who made this day possible: our President, Pisit (Duke) Pitukcheewanont MD, FAAP, BCMAS; Dr. Carrillo, one of our dedicated board members; our Executive Director, Daphne Plump; and our Director, Maricela, for representing HGF! A special thank you as well to our partner, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital!

Our appreciation also goes out to our host, Mark Christopher Lawrence, and co-host, Ebony Morrison, who were the heartbeat of the day, keeping the crowd motivated from the first whistle to the last finisher!

What started as a vision turned into something truly special.

Thank you to every attendee, instructor, vendor, sponsor, volunteer, photographer, and supporter that helped bring the first Haus of Wellness to life. The energy, the community, the connections, the movement, the conversations… this was bigger than an event.

And we’re just getting started.

Haus of Wellness Vol. 2 is already in the works. Vendor applications and volunteer applications are now open through the link in our bio. Stay connected with @hausofwellnessmia for upcoming announcements, experiences, and exclusive updates. 🤍

Just wrapped up this custom denim jacket and pants combo inspired by none other than OLARAY from Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video! 👠🧟‍♂️ Let’s just say, if this outfit could dance, it’d moonwalk its way into the spotlight! 🌕✨
.
.
Caught the Michael Jackson movie on Monday night (popcorn in one hand, slurpee in the other—because balance, right?), and I’m feeling creatively charged!🤩 Sometimes, all it takes is a good movie to spark those design ideas! 🎬💡
.
And the best part? My client is over the moon with her new threads! Knowing she is happy makes every stitch worth it. 🧵So, what do you think? Could this denim duo give OLARAY a run for her money? 😉♻️

Writing my thesis film San Ak Rasin was quite a journey. The story is based on real people & events, but writing it helped me heal my own inner wounds. I find so much inspiration and comfort in my main character Cécile, who, much like me, had to stand up to her abuser and secure her own agency no matter how scary it was.

Making this movie was the hardest fucking thing I’ve ever done. I laughed and danced, but I cried and panicked and spent every dollar I had to make things work. But just like Cécile, I’ve learned that I’ve that all I ever needed to do was trust in myself and the journey that I chose. As Boukman explains to Cécile, I hope that the film inspires everyone to BE BIG. And let whichever God you choose handle the rest.

I want to thank @elboww_knee for bringing this character to life. Your determination, your tenacity, your immense work to understand Cécile to her core meant the world to me. It was inspiring to watch you navigate this experience. I’m so honored that I got to work with you on your first film 🥹💕

I’d also like to thank @wa.soley for stepping up to play Boukman, a very pivotal figure in our culture. The pressure to do him justice and perform in front of a camera is not an easy feat, and you absolutely killed it. I’m so blessed that you took a chance on me. Thank you thank you thank you 💕

Be sure to follow @sanakrasin.film for updates to our donors as well as updates on the film itself.

Miami showed up the way it always does — with heart, heat, and intention.

Support Runs Deep isn’t about the miles. It’s about who you’re running with, who’s holding space, and who shows up when it matters.

What a moment ✨
