When I was in a very dark place, a very dear friend cane into my life and showed me that love and beauty are everywhere we look. Beauty surrounds and abounds, one need only to be open to it. 🌀 Link in my bio - Celtic t-shirts available! 🔗 Or find them on the @eldon.threads website homepage. 🌞 Apparel based on ancient art and the arcane 🌞 I have teamed up with @eldon.threads to produce this brand new t-shirt, featuring my own design inspired by ancient British and Celtic art, history, folk, ritual, and psychedelia. For the design I combined the Uffington White Horse chalk hill figure (early Iron Age) with motifs commonly found on British Iron Age coins. And, yes, I do also have some of these motifs tattooed on my leg (see slide 3!) - that’s how much I love them! These coins’ fascinatingly abstract designs were the first ancient art style I fell in love with. They have played a massive part in spurring me to create my own art, almost in dedication - a kind of ancestor worship of my own. The Uffington horse has been interpreted by some academics as a ‘sun-horse’. This idea aligns with the coins’ horse depictions, which frequently appear with solar symbols such as the sunset-yellow wheel included in my design.
