From vision board to real life ✨ And it’s only just the beginning!!!

Here’s a little snippet of the speech I made that night…this pretty much sums it up:

“Forget about playing small. Don’t box yourself in. Your dreams are valid. Your energy is powerful. No matter what’s going on in the world, remember that we always have choices. Don’t let the external world shake your foundation or take your power away. We all have the ability to build on the nucleus we’ve been given and stay hopeful for a bright, beautiful future. That — to me — is true empowerment”.

That thing that scares you? That thing you didn’t think you’re cut out for? Don’t have enough experience? What if it fails? Will it make you look cringe? But it lights you up to think of it…

Go take ONE step towards that thing and see what happens next.

While the summer is a time for rest and recovery, fall has always been known as the time of harvest. 🌾

2 years ago, the most important experience of my life was about to take place. I listened to @ludovico_einaudi on repeat. I took long baths, meditated, walked for hours, ate dates, bounced on balls with my doula, & listened, waiting for Romy to tell me she was ready.

One of my best friends is about to give birth, and I’ve kind of self-appointed myself her mama guru. Truthfully, it gives me so much joy to pass along my mama learnings - things other mamas taught me or things I learned on my own that I wish someone had told me! But it’s also about reliving the experience vicariously through her in order to hear, smell, and feel again the memories of that ethereal waiting room.

But it’s not just like waiting for the door bell to ring is it? There’s so much understandable trepidation that weighs on the mind of every soon be mother regarding the actual process of GIVING BIRTH - the contractions, the water breaking, the pushing, the pain, the fear of “complications”. So much has to go right in those moments to get to the other side.

I want to share with my dear friend @elenaguberman (and all women who are waiting, patiently, anxiously, and in harmony, for their lives to change!)… a beautiful text that I received just before going into labor from the one and only @jenofkin. 🩷 I scrolled back through two years of text messages to share it here:

“Spidey senses are telling me you’re in labor mama. I’m loving on you from here. Keep channeling water & surf our baby Romy right out. Talk to her as you breathe and remember to trust your energetic body. You were born to do this, you don’t have to “know” how. Your body knows… Picture all of our collective power as women - there are almost 400 women giving birth every MINUTE. That’s over 120,000 women in labor together around the world. So when Romy’s divine time comes, join hearts with those women and borrow from each others’ collective strength to power through and bring our babies down to Earth safely. You’re never alone.” 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾
